So I bought some HID kits for my 2006 A4. Got them from DDM. 55W - 8k Slim Ballast. Installed them on my low beams (I have halogens). After a couple of days they started acting up. Not going on when I turned them on, etc.. Now, I basically have a problem with just my drivers side low. When I turn them on, that side flickers out almost all the time. Sometime it fires up and stays on, but it's rare. One they actually fire up I dont have an issue with them staying on. I was told to buy Error Code Eliminators from DDM which I did. Installed them, they did absolutely nothing.

When I purchased the code eliminators for my low beams, I also bought a set of HIDz for my fogs. 35w-8k and threw error code eliminators on those as well. After a couple of days of running my fogs, my drivers side fog is no longer turing on.

So I am basically having issues with both lights now, and they both happen to be on the drivers side. Both lights are functioning just fine and fire up every time on the passenger side.

Suggestions please!!!!! This is really irritating.

Thanks for your help guys!

when i did the same thing, i had to get my car VAG'd. I had a buddy that worked at VW that hooked it up to his scantron tool thing and did all the things there. didnt have a problem with that afterwards.

I dont recommend you using HID's for you halogens. You are going to piss people off by blinding them. just some FYI

I have DDM for my fogs as well and they turn off every once in a while. So not sure on that one.

Have you tried swapping the ballast and/or bulb to the other side to see if the problem follows?

We just can't win with these people can we bblume, haha.

Seriously save your pennies until you have enough money to be able to purchase OEM Xenons, or retrofit projectors into your halogen headlights, and the cheap DDM HID kits.
