I have a 2006 A4 fwd with a cvt trans. My car has been doing something wierd, the dash lights that show you what gear you are in turns all red and starts flashing. But only around the gear selector on the dash, no where else on the car is there a cel coming on. Anyone know what this is caused by?

It could either be a problem with the CVT (which is big $$$) or the TCM at fault, which is a bit cheaper to repair but still expensive. Best to get the codes scanned and go from there.

I have a cpo warranty so I am pretty sure I am covered either way. Just waiting for the dealer to open. Just not sure if it is safe to drive the 30 miles to the dealer.

Depends on the symptoms. You are prob best getting it towed if AOA would cover the towing.

So I drove the car in, Audi offered to tow under my warranty. The dealership was very nice and took very good care of me. Because of my last minute problem they had to put me in an Enterprise rental, which is fine. I got a call today they are doing the coil recall, plus I have a bad pressure sensor to the trans, and I need a new TCM (trans mission control module). The TCM I guess is specific to my car and must come from Germany programmed for my car. It can take 1 - 2 weeks. Plus they are getting me an Audi loaner as soon as I want to have one. Very nice to deal with, thanks Audi.

I got the car back, they sent the part express from Germany. Classic Audi is awesome. Cost me 53 dollars with tax for over 1700 worth of repairs.
