So i got my new tires on my car, the old ones were really bad and also it looks like i have a bad alignment. Now the question is do you guys know of any places that could do it on Audi known place’s or Audi could only do alignment on my car.. I called few places’ they told me yes no problem we could do it. When I got there they told me sorry they don’t have a machine to do it.. a lot of other people told me like pet boys. Firestone, discount tires, and any tire place, and other very knows NTB. And so on..
Well non of them want to even do it or they don’t have the machine to do the alignment, I really need to get it done before my new tires take a dump..
A lot of them talk about ESP and traction control that only Audi has the machine and its more complicated than any other alignment.
Please help Audi wants 180$

if all you did was tires, dont think you should need an alignment, unless you needed one before the new tires.
Anyways yes, places like this won't touch our cars because of our ESP.
Anyway, I would check your local tuner...
I go to the people who provided me my GIAC flash.

Im pretty sure any shop w/ an alignment computer will be able to it...all it does is tells the mechanic where to put the weights lol

Hyphy, I know the firestone by me wont touch my car, and they got the new hotness compared to the old and busted computer my local autozone has.
They said some shit about the ESP, who knows...

They're wrong. I go to my neighbors shop and it's one of those redneck shops w/ the mechanics that have two teeth n all and they do it...Just tell them to do it.

If your car is lowered, go to the dealership or a specialty tuner. I am 25" fender to ground and was rejected by 12 businesses, so I went to the dealer who could do it and paid the price...

Pep boys said they couldn't align an Audi. It "required a special machine"...then they said they could. They "checked it" and said it was fine, but it doesn't feel fine. I don't think they did anything

Dude, just cough up the 180 and have it done at the dealer. You are most likely going to pay 150 at a good shop anyway. Just cough up the extra 30 bucks to make sure its done right. No sense in paying some douche to do something he doesn't know how and won't do it right anyway.

I think you are right. I want to get a alignment done, Balancing was done when i got my new tires put on...
Now i need Alignment done!!!!
I called a shop next to my house Good Year.. I took my car there. and I made sure to see if they could do it.
They said YES... the price is 110$ for my car. I didn't even say anything to him about the ESP controller. The guy said it on its own this car has a ESP controller that we have to reset and reprogram your computer with your new alignment.
So from my understanding they know what they are doing.
What do you guys thing should do that? or take it to Audi and get it done there?
Just trying to save few box but is it really worth it..?

I have a question for more someone with more knowledge on the subject.
I've heard by resetting or reprogramming the ecu you can lose your stage 1 flash
Is this true?

Oh my God! This made my brain hurt to read. Dude, I don't know about you, but I don't think most of us trust a non-audi shop with our cars. We also don't type with a hammer. My aftermarket shop only works on performance tuning and maintenance of VW, Audi, and Porsche. I trust them more than the dealer. I would NEVER take my car to a Jiffy Lube, Good Year, Just Brakes, or any place like that, for anything. Period.

Haha x2. I gave up half-way through and just read the replies for a summary.
I purchased a set of GoodYear GTs at TownFair Tire a month ago. Ultimately I worked out a deal for a computerized 4-wheel alignment for free.

The one thing that some non audi dealers off is a unlimited alignment deal that lasts the life you have the car, I wish that were the case at my dealer....

Every one of those shops listed I can guarantee you have no clue on how to adjust front camber!!! And you should always get and alignment after putting 4 new tires on. That is if you want to get the most of your money.

imo, pay the bank for the dealer the first time.. i paid for two with a b6a4 i had before. I didn't know any better and went to sears and they couldn't and/or didn't want to adjust everything (as quattro16 alluded to) which lead me to the dealer to get it done right. so, do it right the first time or pay more in the long run (second alignment and maybe premature wear on the tires if it's way out spec's). maybe check other dealers in the area for other prices if there is more than one. GL
Since I learned, I go to the dealer or a known/trusted alignment shop (that's not a kid that just follows the directions on the screen and doesn't really know what he's doin). In this area the dealer or that shop costs $100 for an alignment..

I took my car to Audi to get Alignment done, and for engine light.
I have also called Audi USA because they didn't want to work on my car.
The manager told me it has a lot of mods done to it.
Today when i got there they were so nice to me, all of the sudden they will replace DV valve also all coils and other crap...
So we will c when i get the car back I hope they could do my Aliment with the coil overs.

$180 for an alignment on our cars isn't that bad considering it's being done at the dealership! (mine charges about $160). I ended up getting my alignment done by a local shop after I lowered the car and they were just a bit lower in price.

I was quoted $420 today for shock and spring install and an alignment. Is this a fair price???

That sounds like a pretty good deal since alignment alone is roughly 150 give or take. Installs on 4 corners alone can be $400.
Rule of thumb for me is always check the dealer first. If its a fair price take it, I like pro's who work on Audis everyday to fix anything.
