It seems Dectane has come up with a new design for B7's, that have the R8 and A4 B8 low-then-up style, rather that the A5 whisler style:

Does anybody have pics of these installed?

I'm sorry, but you need to do a search here. These are the same as posted before in several threads.
Some are called Depo.

All the companies are just buying the product and branding them with their name.

No, you need to do a search.

I read on many european forums that Depo and Dectane are different manufacturers.

And I started one of those threads. Do you really think I don't know that? What's with the stupid policing on this forum? You are not even indicated as being a moderator.

Nah buddy, you are the one that needs to search. These headlights have been around along while, and there are multiple threads about them with pics.

I've read every single LED lights thread on every Audi forum, and many other websites, for the last three months. As far as I know, this is a new design by Dectane. It is not even available yet, hence the ** at he beginning of the serial number.

If this is indeed the same as the Depo lights we have seen in the Autralian and French forums, then prove it. But from I've read, it's not.

Well, "Dude", reading is what I do for a living, I'm a lawyer.

So, from what I understand, it is the consensus of members of Audizine that Taiwanese maker Depo Auto Parts Ind. Co., Ltd. http://www.depo.com.tw/history.htm headlight model 446-1122-LDHEM and or 446-1122-LDAM2 as seen in this catalog http://www.depo.com.tw/asp/pdf/R_AD_A4_S4.pdf is exactly the same as German (Leipzig-based) manufacturer Dectane GmbH http://www.dectane.de/shop_content.php?coID=4 model Dayline **SWA08EGX, the ** meaning, as per their FAQ:

"What does ** in the article number mean?
This article is brand new in our program, so you have the chance to see an preview and to order it before we have it in stock."

This implies that Dectane's representation that they sell "exclusive and innovative designs" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MoXTwGrfg8 is false.

Interesting. They do not look exactly the same, and Depo does not seem to make a chrome model.

Well, as we say around here, ben coudonc tabarnak. [headbang]

If this is true, then great, because people keep saying that the built quality of the Depo's are better than the Dectane's.

What the hell?!?!
Take it easy man!

First of all you say "It seems Dectane has come up with a new design for B7's". If you had read all the forums and all the threads like you said you did you would know that this is no new design. They look 100% the same as the ones other here has posted.

Secondly Dectane is not a manufacturer of headlights. They buy their headlights from Taiwan and brand them with their name. The manufacturer they use most is Sonar.

What is the difference between Dectanes and this other I found on ebay? They sell them in chrome as well..

Now go and watch the Olympics!

fun read, i have only noticed a difference between the older style (the lights go upwards) versus this one. I am no led headlight guru nor do I follow them much.

for the most part, the quality will be the same, unless you maybe get a brand like in.pro?

Why does everyone get so pissed every time someone makes a new thread? if everyone searched all the time we wouldnt have any new threads. new posts keeps this forum going, and assholes who flame them for trying to start up some convo are the ones who make people go elsewhere.

I just don't see the point in starting a new thread when there are hundreds out there that cover the exact same product! These are not the types of threads that keep this forum going. It's the NEW stuff.
This exlpains it so damn well:

The Depo headlights are from Taiwan and the Dectane are German. The LED's in the Depo don't really have the swoosh curve of the Dectane the are straighter with about one 60' curve upwards. I put a set of the Depo HID / LED headlights in my daughters B7 as her car didn't have the Audi HID's, just the Halogens. The low beams on the Depo's are better than the Halogen OEM low beams but the LED's only seem to come on about 50% of the time. I've checked the connections but no luck yet. I'm happy her low beams are better than before but she would definitely like the LED's to work right (looks cool dad).

for god-sake people.... go OEM xenon plus flystrips... OEM quality lights + craftsmanship & quality of phil's research/design = perfect solution for LED headlights.

Do you mean to say the the whole strip won't come on or only some of the bulbs?

Although Phil's work is amazing, the OEM xenon were not designed to have an led strip running down the lower portion of the light, and like someone said in a different forum, they kind of look like were unnecessarily added to the housing IMO.

My question is can Fly fix the Depo ones that hahnmgh63 installed for this daughter, has there been any similar issues with the Dectanes ones : http://www.dectane.de/product_info.php?info=p43819_dayline-headlights-audi-a4-b7-05-08---drl-optic.html

I did not get a chance..yet [:D] to open this model but if there is a candidate ready to send me a set, I have no problem taking a look at them.
Nevertheless, from what I was able to read on numerous Forums, they do have the same weakness than all the other: really poor LED quality, poor light output, issues in cold weather. I learned my lesson with my V3 few months ago and I had to go with really high quality LED to be reliable. Problem is that you pay for quality and there is NO WAY that any for these aftermarket will install high quality LED and sell the headlights for $300 or so. Take the example of the A6 LED, the kit is sold for more than $400 and concept + material is much less than an entire housing, mass production or not. When I say expensive, I mean really expensive for a single led: I am talking about almost $10 per unit
