Anyone have any experiance replacing/repairing windshield washer hoses?

So I discovered that I have a break in my windshield washer hose. It is right at the grommet that comes out of the upper fender before it goes to the hood. Do I have to remove the fender to access the hose? Or just the lining? I don't think there is enough slack to where I could pull it out of the grommet and then have enough hose on each end to repair....

On the plus side, I think for as long as I have owned the car (bought used), I think the break has been there. My washers work, but only hit about half way up the windshield. Thought it was the norm until I say another A4 spray and shoot over the car lol.

Any ideas would be helpful.

My washers hit only about halfway up the window too. I haven't seen a break anywhere in my lines though. I'd be interested if fixing your break helps out.

I am going to try a repair today, have a few ideas in my head how to make it happen.

I have next to no access where the break is, so I have to remove the windshield cowl and a few other things. I will take some pictures.
