Hey guys,

I think I talked about this a while back but I have been waiting to put these wheels on to replace my TSW's for a while! I finally got them. Next on the list, lowering and 15mm rear spacers to get a little more flush in the rear.

What do ya think?

Before with 18"X8" TSW Sakatas

After with 20"X9" Forged A8 wheels

Thanks for all the kind words! I feel the same. Incredible difference. Yes, A8's are excellent cruisers if you dont mind the extra parts expense and the fuel economy. As for fuel though, I have never purchased my cars with economy in mind.[:D]

I got them from Tony at Motorsport in Portland. Tony used to work for Plus One Motorsport before they went out of business and then he started his own business. Great guy for sure. Not sure what they came off of.

Most likely a D3 A8 W12. Mine are in the basement waiting for all the snow to melt.

Great change, you never go gone with those wheels. So whats next? Coilovers?[wrench]

Here's the list of things that come to mind immediately.

H&R coil overs, H&R 15mm spacers for the rear, M style wing for trunk (More of a lip than a wing) painted body color, front license plate delete, light tint on tail lights, polished aluminum mirror covers, dual exhaust with the "ring" tips, body color engine covering, white LED under car lighting (when doors are open only), so much more than this but this kinda gives you an idea.

You need some suspension work on your D2 stat! I suggest OEM S8 suspension.....

How much lower would that put me? Still a comfy ride? More so than a Eibach kit? Still pondering air ride but the more I read into it, it just doesnt seem like a good choice for a daily driven car.

I'm not exactly sure, but there is a dramatic difference in ride/height from the A8 and the S8 set up. As for the Eibachs, hmm I think it maybe slightly lower than the OEM S8 suspension (not sure). Well, if you wanna go lower, you can always buy coilovers?

The only issue I have with the coil over set up is the fact that on the A8, the rear isnt adjustable. Why worry about coil overs when you cant adjust all corners?

Yeah, that's the only downfall to having COs on a D2. My rears aren't height adjustable and I still have a finger gap of space. That's why I may bag my S8 later when I get around to it.

Soooooooooooooooooo, you probably saw this coming but do you by chance have your OEM springs and if so would you maybe sell them?

Those rims are sick man! OEM all the way. Want to trade for my 20"s? 20x8.5 and 20x10, brand new Yokohama S-drives all the way around.

Sorry to hijack, but could 275/35-20's (tires) fit on these rims?

OK, tires I have on now are 255/35-20. Just wanted to make sure a 20mm incr. in size would work.

Those 20's are pure SEKs!! how would those look on a D3?
Is it minimal comfort you give up with 20's? or a lot?

I didnt notice a huge difference between my 18's and the 20's now. For me the look on 20's is well worth any minimal changes in ride. I love these things!!!!

They look great, I also have these wheels in my car and actually noticed an improvement in ride quality over the original Avus 18s. The guy I brought them off before his S8 got smashed up also swapped them from 18s and noticed the same thing. Mine are the 275/35/20 D3 type..
