I was going to post this in the telematics forum but it just doesn't seem to get much traffic. If this needs to be moved, I am sorry.
I purchased a FISCON Basic Plus through the classifieds here. The install went flawless, all the codes took and it works as advertised. It's hooked up to a Symphony II+ and not the RNS-E.
However, my phone is an iPhone, and I am noticing some buggy behavior (calls sometimes don't hang up correctly) and for good measure I want to run the software update on the FISCON.
Where I am stuck is getting the thing into SWUPDATE mode. Because I don't have it hooked up to an RNS-E I cannot enter the #KTC*PUPDATE# code into the head unit. I HAVE tried sending the *582#2025 number through my phone, but it just tries to actually dial that as a phone number. I have tried 3 different phones: iPhone 3G, Blackberry Pearl and an En-V. All three phones try to actually dial that number.
Because I bought this used, Kufatec refuses to help me (no order number) which IMHO is pretty sad support of their product. I WOULD have bought one from them but they were out of stock whenever I tried, but that's neither here nor there.
Can anyone offer any advice on this?
