As for intakes, The stock is the best option. You can modify it to give you the desired sound you want instead of wasting money on something that will not enhance the performance of the car. There is a theard on here that shows how to do this easily. Search if you cant find it let me know.

EDIT: Here is the link to the intake silencer delete. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?156818-CHECK-YOUR-INTAKES!!-%28Intake-Silencer-Delete%29-PICS!

I'm sure this goes for the BSR intake as well, but I would not recommend paying full price for any aftermarket intake options, unless you get a relocation for the filter, like the GSG CAI does, or any others, but the shitty carbonios and EvoMS's already are super expensive, the ones that actually suck cold air are likely to be astronomical brand new.

You can do the DIY, home method and get a K&N cone filter from pep boys and bolt it up. Save like $2-250 this way and it's almost the exact same setup, except you don't have a fancy heat shield. I dunno how well those work anyways, but you may need at least some heat blocking from direct exposure from the hot turbo only 1-1.5 feet away from the cone filter location.

Ok, so being an owner of a Carbonio for a year, then taking it off, ther is SOME gain from it. Minimal though it may be, but there was definately a slight loss in power from removing it. Is it worth 400 bucks? No. Probably not worth 100. But the sound is what I miss as well. Just know this. Before I put on the carbonio, I just did the cone filter by itself, and the heat soak was terrible. Without a proper heat shield, it is not worth the poor performance for the sound. So much top end is lost just from hot air.

I'd suspect you'd see more gains from a 034 Turbo Inlet Hose + AFE Dry Flo + Silencer Delete. Exposing a cone to the particularly hot engine bay of a turbocharged motor will result in heat soak. GSG makes a true CAI which will free up some power...but sadly it won't work with a stock intercooler setup.

He does talk about birdseed which is hilarious but he also shows how to remove the silencer in the intake. With our motors you really dont see much gain in hp so I believe it isn't worth spending hundreds on a CAI. I will see if there is another DIY but I doubt it.
