Its impossible to search through threads for people with legitimate experience. Anyone who has it able to comment on it? Compare it to other cars or even this car at stock/stage1/etc. setup?

Go to VWVortex Technical 2.0T FSI and you will get loads of info.

Its like K03 power delivery with loads of top end.

BTW a guy here in Dallas is selling his entire APR ED30/S3 K04 kit for < $2,000. IM me for his contact info if you are interested. Been on the car for < a year.

Yeah im sure a bunch of GTI guys are running the kit. Only thing is, kinda hard to compare their K04 kit to ours. Weight difference and their FWD.

Im sure its like what he said though. Power like the K03 with top end.

i recently had the APR kit installed on my vehicle. I could definitely tell the power difference. I had the stage 2 set up for about a year now so it is not like i am coming from a stock car. the kit is like being chipped again with more power and the power band continues where the ko3 was limited. Also the sound difference is amazing. the Ko4 sounds so nice when it is spooling.
the car can still be driven like stock when not in the mood to floor it and it is nice being able to put the car in stock mode at 200hp.
only problem i have dealt with has been the fact that my maf went bad from a bad air filter (nothing to do with the kit) and the fact that i have been flooring the car so gas hasn't been the best lol
this is the most i am doing to my engine since i have tiptronic and am not going to push my luck with more power. i also kept up with a slighty modded e46 m3 on the highway (not sure if i could with stage 2, never tried)

I got one of the first one of these kits (as we are an AP distributor) and I've been extremely happy with it. Being a tiptronic it was pretty much the biggest turbo I was willing to do. It spools very fast and has awesome midrange power. The other thing I love is I don't feel as though I'm running out of steam in high RPMS as much. I would certainly like more power but it is a great, very reliable upgrade and I'm really glad I did it. I'm looking into water meth and tunning to go with it to get a little more power but over all the kit is very impressive. Any other questions feel free to ask as I did all the work installing etc (which btw is a pain in the ass)

isnt its price tag around $4,500 ?? thats wayyyyyyy to much money to spend for 20 WHP..... i spent $1,200 on my subaru and had 370 crank hp...how the hell can you justify spending so much on the APR k04 kit when its horsepower to money = pretty much nothing

^^ Clearly you know nothing about this kit if you think it adds 20 whp. It gives you 320 hp crank. Your subaru probably didn't need injectors which cost $700. I can perfectly justify this upgrade I think it was entirely worth it. If thats your attitude about it there are certainly other options that are less expensive but I tend to stick with people I trust and know personally. Everyone has their opinion but your information is not correct

That statement is saturated with fail.

It's a Suburu buddy. Really?

Really?

hahaha sounds just like my roommate (who owns an sti)
hes gets so upset and says its ridiculous how much we spend to get a little power here and there. the cost of our fuel pump is absurd to him.

he's right about the power but people don't understand that we know what we're getting ourselves into and we don't care.

then i just give him the all too common audi response....."atleast I have a nice interior"

hahaha, im pretty much in the same situation but he has a wrx not an sti, hes got about 300 awhp, but when the subaru guys say it was only 1200 they mean 2200 because they had to get a custom tune.

We've had the kit on our project A3 for about a year now. It's very fun to drive with the extra power but what a lot of people don't realize is how smooth and easy to drive the kit is. The power delivery is free of any hiccups and it drives as smooth or smoother than a completely stock car. The kit is perfect for the person who wants a big power increase without sacrificing reliability or drivability. I've seen quite a few homebrew setups come through that never seem to run quite right and are always in need of different parts or custom tuning. With the APR kit you don't have to worry about that, you can just drive and enjoy.

damn 300whp from a wrx? thats impressive. My roommate's running 305whp on his sti. (not trying to make this a dick measuring contest...info is strictly for analysis)

but ya I know exactly what your saying.
my roommate paid for a custom dyno tune back at home in california then when we moved out to colorado he paid an extra few hundred bucks to get it re-tuned to milk out a couple more hp. those subie guys LIVE for dyno charts and whp.
