here's a question that I've searched for but haven't found anything.

I currently have an iphone and was going to buy the dension ipod cables for my b7 a4.

In the next couple of months I'm going to be switching carriers and getting an android phone.

Has any testing been done with the ipod cables to get the same function with Android? (steering wheel, text etc)

They won't work. Your best bet would be to get a universal auxiliary interface.

The Android, as far as I know, doesn't have an iPod-compatible interface. However, you may be able to use it with the USB interface of the Dension 300 series gateway if:

The Android device has a USB interface
The Android software lets you configure the USB to look like a thumb drive
You use MP3 files with ID3 tags
FWIW, most current Windows Mobile devices fit these qualifications. I have a Tilt 2 device, with about 100 albums worth of MP3s on a 16GB microSDHC -- when I get my A3 in a month or so, I plan on installing the Dension 300 & should be able to use it with my phone as described above. Or I could just copy the MP3s onto a USB thumb drive & use that instead.
