Hey all,
Sorry for another wheel question thread - I've had a good search & couldn't find what I was after.
I'm thinking of swapping my 8.5x19" LM reps for something different... I've got my eye on some 9x19 ET60 wheels. Running adapters will take 15mm off that offset, giving me ET45.
I'll be getting my 225/35/19 tyres swapped over.
Anyone have any pics with a 9" up front? [:)]

I did some more searching around & found out Captain Obvious is running 9x19 ET38 all round with 225/35/19 tyres, so fitment will be fine...
Still wanna see pics though!

I've got 19x9 et41 with 245/35/19.
Bit too much poke and stretch for me so I think I'll have em changed to et38 or less with 255 tires on in the summer.
Rubs in the back when loaded over large bumps, bringing em in will reduce that.

Looks nice & flush - surely reducing the offset will give you more poke?
Have a look at this:

My LM reps are ET45 & with 17.5mm spacers, they are ET27.5. The car sits at 24.5" at the front & 24" at the back, and it only rubs a bit every now & again.
What was rubbing? The outside wheel arch? You should drop the tyre width to reduce rubbing - a 235 or 225/35/19 would sort that.

Yup a lower offset will push it further out.

Spacers or adaptors to reduce offset is all fine but I think 225 on a 9" would have too much stretch. You want at least 235s.

Personally, I'd run 10mm spacers if you're going to run 19x9s with that high of an offset.
If I wasn't lazy, I'd have 5mm in the back on on my car and 10s up front.
I've had a couple sets of 19x9s. They're my favorite setup for a B6.

19x9 et45 will not fit on the front of your car. It will hit the control arm. You'll need a 5mm spacer.

Your right, my bad, I wanna take more of the hub to increase ET.

Ah ok, thanks - I'll have to get some 20mm PCD adapters to bring the offset down to ET40 then.
Will there be any issue with rubbing on the outer arch then? My car's ground to wheel arch height is 24.5" up front & 24" at the back.

Bentley wheels. 19x9 ET41 with 225/35/19 tires, fit fine...some stretch nothing crazy.
Note: the front clearance between the wheel and upper knuckle arm was very tight. 45mm offset won't work.

here is the stretch on the tire, very little. also this is with a 20mm spacer. bringing the et to 21 in the rear only.

Ok, thanks - I wasn't expecting 225 to stretch much as the wheels will only be 0.5" wider than my 8.5x19 LM reps.
Probably a bad idea, but can I use spacers (and longer bolts) with PCD adapters?
Thinking about it, it's probably better to do the maths first & order the adapters in the width I need. There's a guy on eBay who gets them custom machined by a firm near him & he's doing a set of 4 for £175.00 in any width between 16mm and 35mm. The fronts can be different from the rear, so if I went for 20mm up front and 30mm at the back, I should get the stance I want. [:d]

[o_o] Those are my favorite wheels for the B7, are they made to fit Audi or did you have to use adapters?

I had 18's with an ET of 20 all around, and it would rub every time i would hit a bump. Ran with it 3 winters.

Hi, I know it's an old thread, but what were these wheels with the low ET? I have some A5 Sport wheels for my A4 Avant (B6). They are ET29 18 x 8.5J. Tyres are Michelin Pilot Sport's 245/40-18. They fit with loads of clearance for the brakes and suspension, but onbiously poke a fair bit at the front (0.5" past the outer fender). They only rub on humpback bridges & pot holes etc as I'm still using the standard SE shocks and springs. TerryO

I would say 12mm front and rear for you. The picture you quoted has an offset of 41, so if you like that look, you could go with 10 or 12 mm up front, and maybe 10-15 mm in the rear.

Grassmonkey said that 19x9 et41 rubbing in the back when loaded over large bumps.
It's necessary for me that wheels anywhere didn't rubbing! In rear an offset has to be less or more 41mm?

As ong as you aren't low you will not rub. Anyway, lower offset pushes your wheel out. So if you are concerned about rubbing go higher than 41.
