Basically what the title says. Should I go APR S3 ko4 or the 034 one. Any input or experiences would be appreciated. Thanks

I dont know much about the 034 but obviously APR is a more trusted name IMO. They have the tuning to back up the system and you hardly hear of any issues. Plus there are some ridiculous clips of Stage 3 b7s on youtube you should check out.

That is a turbo. Not a kit. There is much left for them to supply before you can call that a kit.

just my opinion but...

If you're gonna spend that much money on an s3 k04... why not save up a little more and go all out with the awe GT28 kit?

Power band of the K04 is way better for in-city driving.

with 034 youre just paying 300 bucks more for the same unmodified turbo everyone sells which came off the s3. they listed in the thread someone posted above that there is much work to do to that turbo for it to fit OUR longitudinal engines. so unless you got a machine shop and a good tuner for revo or whatever, id go for apr.

No I have called both on pricing and they come out almost the same.

When you say pricing is almost the same, do you mean 034 offers a kit now versus just the turbo?

How much is the kit and what does it include? Probably a good time for 034 to chime in...

Another option I'm waiting to hear from...

R.A.I Motorsport is currently working on an upgraded K03 unit, supposed to put out 20 more HP than a K04. They teamed up with Unitronic here in Montreal for the software... here's the link:

But it's been quiet on that front for a few weeks now. I think they were planning on using the Holiday down time to move things along.

APR was my first thought, but like many, I find it rather $$$...

Cheers!

Go one more step to real BT. K04 is a nice increase in power, but if you are going to replace your turbo, replace it properly. Throw in a couple more bucks and go with the real APR Stage 3. (It has the Garett/Honeywell 2871r turbo). A good bit of power and everyday driveability and practicality. Feel free to PM me if you want more details.
Good luck!

K04 is not a big turbo lol.

THIS! a k04 is smaller than a stock subaru or evo turbo... its an "upgrade" but by no means in the tuner world a "BT"

Autospeed GT30r Turbo Kit.

Yeah i agree with leggs. I would go GT28, 91 oct. tune sucks though. Its nice but the 93 oct tune is like 10 times better. Its like chipping the stage 3 kit.

In the near future i want to custom tune my stage 3 kit so i can roughly push 300 whp on the 91 tune. Its possible but you just need to tune for it. Or i might just run my meth kit so i can always be on the 93 tune. Or maybe ill just run pistons and rods and get even more power out of my GT28. Decisions, Decisions.

go with the APR S3 k04. they have more experience with that turbo setup.
