tried searching and couldent find my answer......I'm fixing to buy this ko3s and sell all my bat stuff(in classifieds already), will it be fine with the stock 242cc injectors or whatever they are if i chip the car or do i have to upgrade the injectors, not looking to max the turbo out by any means, just dont want 150hp, 180-200 would be great, its going to be a all stock motor smic, cat, intake with ko3s and a chip(dunno which chip yet, whatever deal that comes along first i guess)...sorry peeps i only know bat stuff lol,

thanks

A k03s is fine with stock injectors, and even fine once chipped. I am 99% sure! Good luck

You shouldn't need bigger injectors unless you go stg 1+ or higher.

What he said. I think the b6 guys go stage 1+ which consists of audi tt injectors if I'm not mistaken. The higher horsepower tt.

thanks for the input so far, I've been looking up specs on the ko3s, it can take 20-25hp more than regular basic 1.8t ko3, im 99% sure it will be ok also, but theres always that 1% haha...im not going "all out" either, after all i am going from 350awhp to maybe 160awhp, i wont be able to tell a difference from a 160awhp car to a 180awhp car haha.

The fuel injectors from the AEB and AWM are different. I read before that the AWM flows a bit more, but I would investigate more to conclude that.

PN for AWM injectors (k03s): 0280156065
PN for AEB injectors (k03): 0280150447

I am sure you will be ok, but just not sure if it will flow optimal. People say that it is the boost different from 7 compared to 11psi stock that makes the difference. But I think the injectors also flow different. Once again, investigate to make conclusuion. Maybe call up the dealership and inquire (the parts guy at the one I go to knows his stuff).

iirc cars with the k03 had 240cc injectors and cars with k03s had 270cc.

I've heard that before, i knew there were 270cc out there that came on a a4, i will just have to buy those too then, thanks for the replys....

I wouldn't change out the injectors. The updated K03s turbo is only slightly different. Most of the additional horsepower on the AWM (factory "K03s" equipped) was due to increased boost (11 psi). The turbo alone will make little difference. Your ecu will add fuel as necessary via the fuel trims. If you switch injectors, the car will probably run rich because the ECU is unaware of them. The injectors should match the tune/ecu.

Just like walky talky said, use the injectors that the tune calls out for. If it's the stock or chipped aeb ecu, then use the stock 240cc injectors. Doesn't matter if you use the k03, k03s, or even k04. If you use the k04 tune, then use the injectors and fpr that the k04 tune calls out for. Injectors, fpr, maf, should all vary on your tune not turbo. I'm sure that you know that even for the big turbo, you can't just use whatever injectors you feel like or whatever maf you feel like, it all depends on the tune. Same applies to smaller turbos.

This.

I ran a K03s on mine, and I was a FMIC and Meth away from maxing that little bastard and on stock injectors.

FWIW, I ran a 6.595 CAPS time on my K03s and stock injectors.

180-200 would be great, its going to be a all stock motor smic, cat, intake with ko3s and a chip(dunno which chip yet, whatever deal that comes along first i guess)

200chp is completely do-able. I was in the neighborhood of 215-220chp with: Uni 1+(93oct), turbo back exhaust, K03s, DIY ported TB/intake, 007p DV, ... stock SMIC, stock manifolds, stock TIP, modded stock airbox, SPEC clutch/flywheel, 034MS mounts, ... that's about it. It was good for a 14.6s 1/4 mi or ~1:53 around Grattan Raceway H-sport sways + stock sport suspension.

Why speculate? Look here instead: injector calculator (http://www.rceng.com/technical.aspx#Fuel_Injector_Worksheet_)

Injectors aren't the only fueling consideration: you also need to factor in the fuel regulator and pump specs for your given car. See here (http://www.usrallyteam.com/content/tech/18t_injectors.html)for a handy chart.

I guestimate I am around 225chp with all my bolt ons.

there is no need at all to buy injectors.

I have a KO3s on a AEB with a unitronics stage 1 tune and it runs perfect.

crtch- i ran my car when i had the GIAC x chip, dv, full exhaust, and a stock clutch... i was able to consistantly run 14.8-15.0... then changed the clutch and was able to hold 14.7-14.8....

nice buddy. I am going to get the turbo for $50 so might as well right? It will be with a neuspeed 1bar ecu, fmic, tp and cone filter.

it's the ko3-0029. Is that what you had?

yes its the k03 029 that i had in it. spike at 21 and then taper from there....

haha k cool. My neuspeed ecu limits at 1bar. so 14.7psi. I wasn't sure if on the aeb you could put a mbc. I thought it was only dbw cars? Is it worth swapping to the ko3s from a ko3?

dcampana
05-01-2010, 03:22 PM
I dont see a reason why you could not run a MBC on your car... you will see a higher boost spike if you run it parallel with the n75.... or you can be "bold" (lol) and go with out the n75...:)

in regards to the ko3s or ko3, not sure if there is a big enough difference or not. is your turbo doing ok?

Yeah all is fine, I had a k03S untill the damm thing blew an Exhaust fin.. THANK GOD! It was only an exhaust fin. If it was in inlet fin id be fackkked.

worth swapping from a good turbo to a good turbo, no.

I ran a MBC on my AEB, plenty of people do. Actually the AEB seems less finicky about it than the other cars, but you still can't mess with it unless you're already chipped or do the diode mod.

yeah I was saying he ran a 14.6... I wanted to see if anyone else tracked their car.

Ah, I will look into a mbc then..

My turbo is doing fine..I don't know how but my entire car is doing fine...it's weird.

haha i know i know! I really drive her gently. The fact that she is stock makes me not want to drive it hard ya know? I get my new tune and other fun things this week so we will see how i do after that haha.

160k and compression is 168-170 all around.
