For sale is a 2.0T FSI engine with a 1.8T engine wiring harness, 1.8T ECU, full body harness/fuse box/modules out of a 2004 Jetta 1.8T GLS (Manual Trans), 1.8T fuel injectors and FPR.

The engine has:
- 35k miles on it
- Is out of a 2007 Passat
- BPY engine code
- Comes with a brand new High-Pressure Fuel Pump!
- Comes with the alternator, accessory bracket, intake manifold with IMRC motor, throttle body, FSI injectors, coils, etc.

Below are the current pictures as the engine sits with the engine wiring harness and ECU. The cut wires you see are the left over harness sections from the 2.0T engine harness, the 1.8T engine harness is uncut.

Brand new HPFP.

My original intent was to install the engine into my '78 Rabbit and run it off of a 1.8T wiring harness and tuned ECU using standard EFI; bypassing the complicated and expensive FSI system entirely.

Surprising to some, most of the 1.8T engine harness connects right up to the 2.0T. Both engines have the inputs and outputs in similar locations, but due to the 2.0T's more robust block a few connectors need to be extended outward.

$2000 OBO!!! [race]

wow, didn't know people were doing this swap out there. If I had my Mk2 still, I'd love to do this swap. I had a 06 GLI, and I loved that motor. Anyone try to swap the DSG tranny also? Has anyone does the 2.0T swap into a MK1 or MK2 before? I got out of older VW's about 5 years ago, I guess a lot has changed..lol

Good Luck with the sale, seems like a great price to me.

Well... No one else is currently doing this swap. [;)]

I know of only one other person who has swapped this motor into a Mk I, and have yet to see anyone swap it into anything else. The guy who has resides somewhere on the East coast, and IMO did not do a terribly good job swapping the motor into his Rabbit. But that's just my opinion...

I have yet to see or hear of anyone swapping the DSG. My plan was to run a O2M or O2Q transmission. Both are 6-speed trans, the O2M being out of a 2004.5 GLI and the O2Q out of any Mk V. The mounting points are fairly easy to fabricate and the trans is pretty well built.

Since the motor does not have the exhaust manifold/turbo, my plan was to source a Holset HX-35 and fab the manifold myself. The goal was to have a manageable 300-350 whp. Should have been plenty for a Mk I. [up]

This is a pretty simple swap, for those who haven't looked into it. Don't let the FSI part intimidate you! The system will be completely eliminated if you choose to use the plans that I have. No HPFP lobe / camshaft failure, no FSI injectors, no IMRC motor, no complicated FSI electronics! When you remove all of those components it is as simple as a 1.8T. [up]

I may be interested. My 2007 passat has broken internals. If I have 2.0t harness from my engine I would assume I could put it on this one. Why did you stop your project?
