I have a B7 A4 with the Symphony II+ head unit. Not sure what the diff between (I notice the difference in the connectors but don't know which one is the right one for the II+):
BlitzSafe AUDI/AUX DMX V.1B
or
BlitzSafe VW/AUX DMX V.5
Looking to buy soon!
Thanks
Sanjay
You say b7a4, but what exact year is the car?

Symphony II+ already has an aux input. You just need to vag to enable it and run 3.5mm jack to the aux pins of the HU.

Are you sure about this? When you say "aux PINS" what do you mean? Is there an RCA input in the rear? Or a 3.5mm? I know there are CD changer connection in the rear just like all Symphony II units in general... still requires a connector. I can buy the connector and splice up a 3.5mm wire to it and plug it in... but it doesn't provide any ESD protection to the HU or any kind of audio filtering to protect the head unit. I'm not really completely sure what Enfig puts in the BlitzSafe box but I'm hoping there is some level of protection for HU input or some form of mini amp powered by the HU.
What are the VAG settings and are you VAG'ing the HU or the ECM?

you can buy rca cables with stereo headphone male plug on the other end. plug that into the rcas for aux input(cd changer) in back of head unit. should work fine, unless you already have a changer... although, it's not very clean looking to have a plug just laying around.

I don't have a changer... but are we confident there is an RCA input on the rear of the head unit? I guess this is all confusing to me... I'll pull the head unit out to see what's back there. Seems like no one really has any solid info on the II+... so I'll definitely take pics and update on this thread.

So... this is for Ipod right? Don't have an Ipod so thats why my OP showed the options. Thanks though!
Anyone know where Mike@ Enfig is at? I PMed him too. I wanted to buy this this week.

If you pull out your Symphony II+ and look at the sticker that shows all the pin out diagram, you will see where the aux L, aux R, aux Ground are.
Order 2 repair wires (part number 000 979 009) from Audi dealer.
Cut them in half, now you have 4 wires, but you will only use 3.
Connect the repair wires to those aux pins of the HU.
Get an aux cable from radio shack and cut one end off and connect it to the repair wires via wire nuts, solder, whatever you prefer.
Get VAG cable and code for aux input.
Hit the CD button a couple times and it should bring you to the aux input mode.

Thanks for the steps! Still worried about EMI/ESD, noise, isolation, etc... you can really damage your head unit by inserting/de-inserting the the jack into a unit particularly those that are made in China :)

Just to update everyone... I'm going to be buying the GROM auxiliary kit from Enfig. As I mentioned and confirmed with Enfig guys, the box contains an internal amp + ESD + noise filtering to protect your headunit from getting damaged from direct electrical contact from your audio device.
Thanks for everyone's advice and ideas!

I didn't think about all that EMI stuff. As far as noise and isolation, I'm using an external HD radio tuner and IPOD for my aux and it sounds way better than OEM XM Tuner. So I don't think none of that is necessary.
