Michelin PS2's would probably do nicely, but you can't go wrong with either one

Spend 1/3 the price and get a set of Sumitomo HTR Z3. Not quite as sticky but the combo of price and performance cant be beat.
My friend won the STU AutoX class in the susq region on these tires in his BMW 335xi.

Bridgestone Discontinued the RE01R.
They have been replaced by the RE11R.
If price isn't an option go for the Dunlop Direzza DZ1 Star Specs. Grippiest tire you can get that isn't an R-comp.

If youre looking to replace them in a few months. Outstanding tire, but my god I think they lose 1/32 of tread if you touch them with your hand. Conti pro sports are the best performance/durable tires I've used.

I voted for the Michelin's. I know the Goodyear GSD3's aren't made in Germany anymore, they're now made in China. While I would like to trust that Goodyear carried over the same quality standards when they moved it's production to China, I just can't totally trust it. Let me just add my opinions on the others mentioned in here. Conti's, first off, are the worst tires I've ever owned, both in all-season and high performance summer. I've heard great first hand reviews about the Direzza's, but the overall community both on TireRack and Discounttire.com don't rate them very high. As for the Sumitomo's, I have to say for a cheap tire they are grippy in the dry, but horrible in the wet. Their treadwear is also abysmal. The Bridgestone RE01R's, like the RE050's are great tires and should be considered alongside the Michelin and the Goodyear's.

Remember Bridgestone does not make RE01R's anymore. They replaced them with the RE11.

Eurotuner did a test on tires a few months ago. this is how it broke down:
1. Continental Extreme Contact DW (won by a long shot)
2. Pirelli P Zero
3. Toyo proxes R1R
4. Michelin PS2
5. Yokohama Advan Neova AD08
6. Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec
7. Bridgeston RE-11
8. Hankook ventus R-s3
9. Vredistein Ultrac Sessanta
10. Kumho Ecstasa XS

Like B6Joe said, that Eurotuner test is probably a very good source of unbiased info: they used Tire Rack's facilities, but not their data/test results. I for one respect the opinions of a seasoned racer like Will Turner. They didn't tell him what tires he was running until after he had completed the test & given his impressions.
I myself will probably go with the P Zero (just P Zero, not the Nero) once my Toyo T-1Rs are done: a decent tire, good wet/cold performance (which is a fairly important factor around these parts), but they tend to get greasy once they heat up on the track. Oh, and I think I can get the P Zeros at cost as well![:D]
Cheers! [drive]

That's very good use. Was my set the crappy one or is yours a super set? hmmm, ha. Great tire anyway.
