Picke up my 01 s8 today. Drove it home to new jersey from indiana... 760 miles to get aquainted with the new car. I never thought I would love another car as much as my 01 s4 but I do. After reading all the reviews I didn't think the s8 would live up to the hype... It did. [hail]

Thinking about taking a closer look. [;)]

Mofsteel U got P.M.
I'm not a huge fan of the red interior but the car looks to be in good shape. I also like the 3 spoke steering wheel a little better, just for looks.

Sounds good, i most likely will be hitting you up sometime in end of Jan- start of feb. Got some plans for the A8 this show season. What you planning on doing to you Audi?

well, i found the PES supercharger kit which looks amazing< http://pes-tuning.com/ >... too pricey for me though. I'm looking for a short snout supercharger that will fit in a similar location as the PES kit and fab my own intake mani. I don't know who i can get to tune it though. I'll probly start on that later in the year. right now just looking to put a nice amp & sub in the trunk.

I am pretty lucky, thanks. After doing a little more research i think a centrifugal supercharger like a Vortech or Procharger is going to be much easier to install with minimal modifications. We'll see. If anyone else has attempted or completed something similar, please chime in.

Keep it stock. The tranny won't be happy .

There's a guy on the D2S8 boards on QW thats done 2 o1E 6sd swaps on both an A8 and S8. His name is TozoM8. He's for hire. Chicago based.

You'll get more out of the car w/ that mod than a PES w/ Tip mod.

My 2 cents.

Kudos on the S8. Great cars.

thanks for the input. I'm gonna look into it. I priced an 01e swap for my s4 (tip)... it was like 3 grand so i would imagine this would be in that ballpark +... the high compression ratio like 11:1 just puts a damper on how much boost i can run without new pistons anyway. I'm actually kind of excited that someone has had sucess with an 01e swap.

Nice!
How do you find it vs the S4? I too had a B5 S4 (with K04s) back in the day and Im wondering how it compares and contrasts. Im not expecting the same performance, but the D2 S8 is something Ive had my eye for ages. It would ideally be my Daily Driver.

Due to consumer hatred of big engines and older cars, they are really cheap over here too.

A k04'ed s4 pulls much harder than a d2 s8. That being said the s8 handles great, especially for a big car and it makes a great daily driver. plenty of power on tap but not like a stage 3 s4. The stock suspension is amazing. It gives a very smooth ride with a very ridgid feel. I think the s8 is a great choice and i love mine.
