SD Cards

I searched the forum and didn't see anything, so thought I'd ask. I have a 2006 with the Nav/SD option and it says it will only take up to 256MB SD cards, is there something that can be done to use larger cards?

Secondly, every time I get in and start the car, it shows the warning on the screen, it's annoying and I haven't seen anything on how to get that to go away, any advice?

You can use any non HC card, the highest capasity that you can find that is not HC is 4gb. I got 2gb that I got for few $ and it works well for me. What's the software version that you are running and also what map dvd?

Stock software? Not sure beyond that and the NAV DVD that came with the car originally. Sorry, I don't know all the specifics, just starting to dive into all this, appreciate the direction and guidance.

Hit the car button and select version (only choice) and post here what you have on the screen.

You are running old software version, there are 0150, 0200, 0250 and the latest 0260. I believe any sw version after 0200 removes the disclaimer screen. Also you are running old map DVD, the one that you have is from 2007, the latest one is 09/10. Map DVD also includes software update.Check your PM.

Navteq sells it, navteq.com, not sure about the dealers. Not available anywhere online that I know, only euro maps.

IIRC, the older sw may only support small sd cards, with 0150 and beyond supporting >256mb. I could be wrong, but I believe I've read that somewhere...

Either way, it won't hurt to upgrade [up]

Another thing is you loose tv out but get aux in I believe.

I am in the same boat as 2006sline. How do I get the right software and maps. I see you were able to help him out. Same software and hardware and maps.
