I have been doing a lot of reading and thinking about what I want to do to my car for engine modifications, but need a little feedback as this is all sort of new in my experience. My car already has an APR Stage 1 chip and this is what I was wanting to add:
-APR Cat Back
-034 High Flow CAT
-Carbino Intake
1. I'm curious, if I do the 034, does the cat back make sense?
2. Does a diverter valve provide more performance upgrade than intake or exhaust?
I understand, the more free flowing intake and exhaust are, the better, but is it worth all of the above mods, or is the 034 with the chip dramatic enough that the other things would provide only slight improvements? Thanks for any insight.
i'm just giving you some live feedback.
i have revo 93, 034 hfc, evoms intake, new dv, silicon tube as for performance mods.
1. i think so
2. upgrading dv is just to prevent tearing due to higher boost from the ecu upgrade
intake is just for sound. most people say stock is more than sufficient.
if you really want the woosh sound, just make it custom :)
however, 034 hfc will give you much more power, with catback = even more.

1 yes, exhaust and TP or HFC makes 100% sense
2 the current DV will not give you any more performance than an intake (which both will give you 0) The exhaust will be actually worth paying for!
Here is an example, I am stage2+ and i have a TP, AWE exhaust, (up to) 100oct program, carbonio(which i know does nothing)
If i was all performance and no show, i would keep my intake stock. I'm already running a stock DV and NEVER had a problem with it. I personaly don't get why people "upgrade ther DV since i have never lost boost and i'm still running it stock..
Hope that helps

Estimates in terms of performance:
1) ECU = +40hp
2) HFC = +20hp
3) Exhaust = +10hp
4) Intake = +/-3hp maybe.

I have an 06 with stage APR CBE, 034 HFC and just a AFE high flow filter. I went stage 2 APR software with only the HFC at first. I added the APR CBE later and noticed very little gain. I'd probably trade the exhaust for a HPFP + new cam follower since they cost about the same with labor. You can have a custom down pipe made and probably pull the same dyno number as the APR CBE imo. Here a breakdown of what I would recommend for a reliable stage 2 build assuming you already have software & the HFC/test pipe.
Good:
CBE 950 + Carbonio 250 + 250 labor = 1450
Better:
AFE filter 50 + BSH STG 2 250 + APR HPFP 550 + custom downpipe 200 + 400 labor = 1450
Throw the OEM piston DV in there for good measure. That's an easy win at $75 from ECS Tuning.
