I've just bought a K04 off a 2008 S3. After mentioning it on briskoda (where I originally found it) there now putting doubt in my mind as to if it will fit on my car or not.

Can some one put my mind at rest. Is it possible to fit it to my car?

it will fit but you will need a lot of other parts

Yes it will fit, but I hope you realize you can't just swap out the turbo without appropriate supporting mods.

I just think it's funny that it didn't occur to you to ask that question before you bought the turbo.

I realised I need to change the car to a remote DV, exhaust and intake to match aswell as S3 injectors.

I was pretty confident it could be done as I was going to do it with my Octavia vRS and had read of K04 upgrades been done on the A4

youll need a new turbo manifold to mate to it as well, you can use the s3 one if you cut off the corner to make it fit properly iirc

1.) The turbo exhaust flange on a S3 and A4 are completely different. So, your A4 downpipe will NOT bolt up to this turbo and a custom downpipe will have to be made that incorporates a S3 (or GTI) flange.

2.) The manifold will not seat properly to the head unless the appropriate ear of the exhaust flange is trimmed and a new hole drilled (it will hit the motor mount).

3.) The compressor outlet and inlet of the turbo are in different locations than an A4. You would need custom hoses to make this work.

4.) A4s have a DV that's incorporated into the turbo where as the S3 has no provisions for this. So, your custom compressor outlet hose will also have to have a bung for a DV.

5.) With all of this custom hardware you will also need hose clamps and a custom exhaust gasket.

034 may have provisions for all of this. I just wanted to ensure that no one was mislead into believing you could simply bolt a S3 turbo on your A4, hook up the exhaust and plumbing, and go.

My Solutions;
1) De-cat pipe with the K04 flange for the A4 are available
2) Not scared of a bit of grinding and drilling
3) Shouldn't be too difficult, I hope
4) Im hoping I can do the same as would be done with A3/GTi/vRS and convert to an ED30 remote DV

PM Elgino. He's the only one I can think of who has been running the S3 K04 successfully. I'm sure there's more, but he's the only one I can think of right now.

thanks for the help :)

I saw the turbo for a fraction of the price of the APR setup and couldn't say no

Even if it doesn't fit I know a few lads with Octavia vRS' that will happily have it off me as it will bolt straight on there cars with the remote DV conversion

thanks for that :)

Looks like he's running the APR kit which has the different exhaust manifold, my biggest concerns are going to be sorting the DV out and the custom hoses [wrench]

Don't forget software, you aren't going to get anything out of this unless you have a tune for it.

im running ko4 from s3 i had to cut the manifold but didnt need to drill new hole
you dont need custom exhaust gaskets use s3 oem i did iv mounted the remote DV on the intake pipe b4 the TB limited room to get it in the outlet hose works just as well i got ic pipes made up from stainless and silicone your gona need new oil an water feed pipework aswell i got some stright braided and secured where posible you cant bent the oem k03 pipework to fit
just get a s3 flange and weld up to your downpipe mine was made 1 piece and removed the cat in 3"
