Alright ive searched and asked Phil our Led guru and not found what im looking for. I just bought a set of DEPO black housing e-code style halo projectors. Im going to be putting in 6000k HIDs and want to replace the incandescent halo illumination bulbs with LEDs close to 6000k color and cant find what size LEDs i would need or where to buy them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't know yet they're on their way from San Jose haha. I was hoping someone could shed some light on the situation so that i could order the bulbs asap.

Alright in case anyone else ever decides to do this i think Ive found the answer. As far as i can tell the bulbs for the halos are a number 86. I just ordered 16 of the pure white 8500k high power leds, part number 74-whp from http://www.superbrightleds.com . I will update as soon as I receive the bulbs and make sure they are correct. Not exactly the cheapest upgrade considering the leds are $2.50 each and there are 16 of them but I am excited nonetheless.

Well hopefully the LEDs work out, somehow my passenger head has started to develop hair line cracks and I'm considering getting the same DEPOs you ordered.
Where did you get them from, part4euro has a package deal where you can get pre-installed white LEDs and 6000k HIDs with OBC canceler for $580, is that a good compared to what you're paying after you swap halo lights and drop in HIDs?

Not at all I got mine from ebay for $199.99 shipped then $40 for the leds and I had a set of HIDs lying around but I could get them for like $100.00. I just need a canceller so you could get what i have going on for around $350.00. Heres where i bought them: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AUDI-A4-B7-ECODE-BLACK-HALO-PROJECTOR-HEADLIGHTS-06-08_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem2c527460c8QQitemZ190 361919688QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAcces sories

Almost twins haha, however RAW has my car right now painting my Vorsteiner, ABT skirts and doing something a little different with the RS4 bumper paint.

Subscribed. Looks like you're trying to do EVERYTHING I want to do with my headlights and I'm seriously considering just getting the parts4euro lights with the upgraded led rings and hid kit and sending it off to Phil.

Alright heres an update for you guys. I did the LED conversion and was pretty excited........until i actually installed them. The LEDs created a very poor Halo effect on the drivers side (which all 8 LEDs actually lit on) and on the passenger side were absolutely terrible since only 1 LED lit. I decided to just disconnect the Halos and run them with 8000k HIDs

If any of you want to give me rep for wasting 40 bucks on LEDs and being a guinea pig for all of us i wont mind haha.

wait so you don't like the look of the golden halo and want a wight one is that what you're saying? so why didn't you just choose the white angel eye option that is available for the headlight on depo's site? and if you want to replace them, look at umnitza. they make quality lighting

damn if i only had $200 to 'experiment' haha yep i want the same setup though, and was thinking about buying the depo healights, it would be easier than buying the angel eyes and installing them, but why didn't you just pick the white led option the depo gave you

well if it's not a hassle, post up some pics of what your headlights look like! i'm thinking about a similar set up so it would be awesome to see some pics, even though the angel eyes are golden not white [:)]

What don't you just replace the defective LED by a better quality and keep the angel eye?

Not the OEM one, but an aftermarket copy will - Deval make them I think

Oh, and it's likely the reason why the LEDs didn't work as well is they omit light directionally, so I'm assuming the light isn't refracting through the plastic ring. The bulbs would have a wider dispersion so if you can find LEDs that have a wider dispersion you'll get a better effect.
These radially mounted ones perhaps?

I recently installed these headlights on my car. (Pics coming soon) I plan on trying out the LED's you linked. I have one bulb on order and will see how the light dispersion looks in the halo. Based on how that single LED works (i.e. good dispersion and no error codes) I will purchase the other 15 and hook them all up. I'm skeptical, but really hoping that the results are favorable. I will also edit this post with a link to a new thread with results so stay tuned.
...oh, and first post. Don't flame me bro. [az]
