Possible issue when earching on multiple words.

So it seems that it's not possible to search on multiple words, yet I'm pretty sure that used to work.

For example, if I search on "ebay chip", it will return threads that contain the word "ebay" only, the word "chip" only, or both words. In the past I'm pretty sure it used to only return the threads in which both words were present.

Have I missed something? [confused]

As our database continues to get monstrously ginormous, we have had to tweak with the standard vB search functionality a bit in order for it to not bring the servers to a standstill. This may be the cause of your confusion.
