So I've got a bad lifter in cylinder 1 or 2 on the exhaust side. Trying to chase down the cause. I've noticed the valve cover gasket is leaking . The main seals appear to be leaking a bit too. Checked the oil pressure:

Idle 27 psi (bentley says 14.5)
3000 rpm 75 psi (bentley says 50-65)

Lubro-Moly 5-40 Synthetic test temp was 180

After doing some searching, I've checked the oil return valve in the oil filter housing. Replaced the vacuum pump valve today. The rest of the PCV system has less than 10k on it. No signs of sludge under the valve cover or in the filter housing.

I read that there is some type of oil pressure valve in or on the oil pump itself that can stick or get clogged and cause high pressure. So I guess that's my next step.

Anyone else had this issue or have any suggestions?

27 psi is good, high oil pressure isnt bad unless its outrageously high. if you search youll find that most have oil pressure ~22-25psi on here. 14 psi is actually a bit low for idle but still safe.

Oil pressure has nothing to do with valve cover or rear main seals btw...

So high oil pressure won't cause blow by?

Not out of those two seals... They never see oil pressure...
