Iwearpro's BAT Avant Build

Ok first off I found this car on craigslist after searching for a donor car for my sedan. I found this car advertised as a "mechanics special" for 1500.00 in Chicago with a crappy cell phone pic. I called the guy and he was a very heavy African speaking gentelman and I couldnt hardly understand a word the guy was saying so I managed to get the guys address and just took a trailer up there and pulled in to my surprise to see a super clean Avant Quattro 5 speed with a 1.8t. Now the engine had a small knock but I figured what the hell and told the guy I would haul his clunker off for $900.00 bucks and he agreed and Off we went [:D] Ok after leaving I told my buddy there is no way in hell I was parting that car out,its too clean so the build planning started.

My pieces that was used are in my signature so Im not going to list them again but Ill more let the picures do the talking.
I will say this was in no way a full no expenses spared build but a small garage build that kept me and my best friend happy wrenching and out of the wives hair for a couple months.
As you will see with the pictues we powder coated most of everything ourselves with a Hrbor freight Coater, an old oven someone gave us and good powder from Cawell Plating. That powder coater was the best $70 bucks spent!

you may notice that some items were deleted so Ill leave it to see who has the best eyes.

Just how I picked her up..The guy was a software engineer for Altell so He kept pretty clean.

To be 100% Honest with ya im Kinda country..lol I have a Ford f-250 with a powerstroke making over 1k lb ft of torque and its a blast to drive and I have more fun driving that then any car..lol. Im not going to lose any money or I wont sell anything,thats not how I roll. I more enjoy wrenching and fabbing then I do driving em,I know I know Im a sicko but hey thats what I like to do.

Looks great!! Its amazing how much of a difference powder coating/painting some parts can make. The yellow reminds me a bit of the yellow Caterpillar uses on their heavy machinery. I guess you can say you have a Caterpillar motor. Definitely a great find. Can you give us more details on your powder coating set-up? Spray booth, oven, spraygun, etc...

I have a heavy duty one that mounts on the front of the radiator. On the pics with just the filter screwed on I didnt have the adapter installed yet because I didnt want it on while the first two start up oils were in. After start up I ran fresh oil,let it run for 1 minute,drained it refilled with fresh and let it run for about 20 mins and then drained it again before adding my 500 mile break in oil. I didnt want the cooler on during the first 2 flushings. I installed it after that.I was just being anal probably but oh well..lol

Thanks for all of the comments guys. Ill try and get a few more pics of the methanol set-up. I was able to tap the factory windshield washer tank and the neat part about that is when the meth gets low it sets the light off on the dash telling me the meth is low. Ill get some pics of the meth set-up if I remember.. Maybe this weekend. I plan on gettinga short walk around and a incar and out of car drive by vid too.

After putting this post up ive had pm after pm about me selling the car so The car is officially for sale. I'm just ready to start on another project. The build was a blast but its time to move it to someone that wants a killer performing driver!
