View Full Version : How Important is exhaust port matching?

First one is my T3 exhaust and the later is my log manifold. Does it matter if they are a little off or should I take a dremel to the log and make it match the t3?
Thanks for your input

I just threw mine on as is. Also I think my gasket between the vband adapter > turbo and dp > lower dp is slightly protruding into the exhaust. I may clean them up next time its off, but its not going to be a huge difference

I would clean it up. We are all want the most out of our upgrades and I would have to think this would create some unnecessary turbulence, that may have an effect on performance.

I don't see any obstruction. Don't mess w it IMO.

I don't think you could make the flow much more turbulent than it already is coming out of the manifold... ;)

gasket matching is plenty safe. It should improve flow and keep the air moving freely. Just angle progressively inward and smooth it out. If you keep the depth to about an inch max, you should be good. Just Dont go bonkers on it and wear safety eye protection....don't get me started about how sucky it is to get cast metal chips in the eye...[wrench]

Do it, you wont regret it... :))
