just got back from 034 in Fremont... i had posted a few weeks ago about having some issues with my brakes, which 034 had originally installed. they took care of the problem with no questions asked... they replaced my pads and did the install free of charge, as well as a full inspection of my brakes to make sure there wouldn't be any further problems, and had me in and out in 1 hour.

just wanted to say thanks to Laszlo and the rest of the guys at 034! [up]

Thats great!!!! Any reputable shop would have done the same though. This is what seperates good shops from bad shops.

I definitely wouldn't say they are the cheapest or close to that but they know what they are doing and that is expensive these days. They wanted $900 to replace my clutch after I bought the kit from them. I got it installed for $375 out the door by another shop in San Jose and they did just as good work and gave me a year warranty on the labor. Oh, and they did in 1 (ONE) day. 034 wanted me to wait 2 weeks before they could do it. I have a couple of bad stories from dealing with that place but they also tuned my car so I have to give them some credit there.

wow $375, that's a huge save right there! What shop is that? do they mainly work on European cars or any?

I gotta introduce you to that Serbian mechanic..he is cool to chat with and is also good on the price. Replaced all my break system for $700...Stupid FireStone wanted $1400...tried to rip me off.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the kind words; glad we could take care of that for you! [:)]

Thanks Ernest! That oil pressure light staying off?

Your car running yet? [:p]

yeah 034 is great!
Thanks Mike! Heard you're working at a shop in San Jose now. How's that going?

Exactly. [up]

I like to think so, too. We just need to fee ourselves, keep the doors open, and be able to keep making cool new parts. [wrench]

Unlike most shops, we don't pass on the cost of all of the strippers and blow to our customers!

Hi Jivko,

Not sure who quoted you $900 for a clutch job... It's a 4-5 hour job, and costs about half of that. We are, unfortunately, usually very booked, sometimes 2+ weeks out. [:|]

Hey Laszlo. It was Christian who said it will be around $900 when I asked him how much 034 would charge me to install it, since I am buying it from you guys. He said it will be around 900 bucks and he can't book me for another two weeks, which I understand but the price was just way up there. Like I said, you guys know what you are doing but based on the price Christian gave me I was shocked and disappointed because I really wanted you guys to do the job.

Why, as a matter of fact, yes it is Laszlo! Running great. About 8 hours of highway driving and the previous issue has not come back. However, always got a few other issues going, but on the whole, things are coming together real well.

The annoying oil light and its annoying beeping has been staying off. I drove the car nearly 170miles on Tuesday, just to make sure. I'm not sure what I did wrong when I first changed the units, but thanks again!!

That had to have been some sort of miscommunication... I apologize. A clutch job for that car takes 4-5 hours, which is roughly half of what you were quoted. Maybe Christian meant that it would have been ~$900 with parts?

Regardless, we'd be happy to make sure that everything was done properly, and give your car a free safety inspection. We do, unfortunately, spend a lot of our time fixing work that was performed at other facilities. Hopefully everything was taken care of properly for you; but we'd be able to put the car in the air and make sure everything is bolted up right, and that there aren't any issues with the installation. [wrench]

Haha, yeah, don't want to leave anyone out! [:)]

Glad to hear it. Don't let work make you get tired of cars, though. Feel free to swing by whenever, we can toss some shwag and stickers your way.

Hey laszlo how about another dyno day to finish out this year?

We're going to be too swamped this month, but we should be able to have one to kick off the new year. I know I keep saying next month, but we really do want to have another one! Just been busy with events, holidays, and product development lately.

Sometimes those oil pressure switches can be faulty from the start; half of the aftermarket ones are low-quality parts. Some places are willing to risk doing the job twice to save a buck or two...

I might take you up on that free inspection, Laszlo. PM with when is a good time to come by. I can't leave the car there since I won't have a ride back but we could also do a dyno run to see what I am putting out with the high flow cat installed.
