So I finally got my car all put back together with my new intake mani and all my polished bling. Figured I would post up since the B5 forum has been a bit dead lately.

Heres what was done this time around:

-Ferrea intake valves
-Ferrea exhaust valves
-Ferrea valve springs/retainers
-ARP Head Studs
-Cat 3652 intake cam/shrick 260 exhaust cam
-Ceramic coated turbine housing
-Re-ceramic coated exhaust manifold
-Polished compressor housing
-Custom intake manifold (Issam's CNC back plate with plenum fabricated by me)
-OBDII VR6 Throttle body
-New HKS Filter element
-New B6 coolant reservoir

and lots of polishing

So far I've put about 100 miles on the set-up with out any issues except for a tiny coolant leak. Sound wise its about 2 times louder than before most likely due to the cams. I wish i would have taken a video outside before so I could get a before and after but its definitely a lot louder.

I'll get you guys a video once I have everything dialed in. I had to add A LOT of fuel up top and I'm slowly but surely tuning it, just haven't had too much time lately.

What kind of air intake filter? I've seen it on a couple other BT's and it's pretty sweet looking

Its a HKS supermega flow. I'm only using it because its a bit tight to fight an air filter on the turbo with the 034 mani putting it so close to the headlight

Just awesome man.

I want to see a rolling video from outside of you hitting boost in 1st, then 2nd...

Good work!!!

Very nice, I like your additional coil pack insulation. Whats the copper pipe for? Want to make me an intake mani like that?

Yeah that 034 coil pack cover would rattle on my valve cover so thats why I have the insulation on there.

The copper pipe is the vent for my catch can set-up

Stunning work. I'd love to know how that car feels on the road.....how is this not at the TOP of the B5 A4 forum right now? What's happened to this place?! haha

Its surprisingly smooth actually. Hits boost about 3-400rpms later than when I had the stock cams in but it makes it up in the upper rpms.

This forum is honestly nothing like it used to be. Seems like the B6 forum is where its at nowadays...

That intake mani looks great. What sort of power do you think the cams and intake are worth over the stockers?

I'll drop it off tonight. I'm local

I just got back home from a solid 2 hours of tuning on the local roads and I must say it is a completely different car now, not just fast, its freaky fast. At 20lbs it pulls as hard as it did before when i was running 28lbs! I can't wait to schedule a few hours at a dyno to see what this thing can really do when the boost is turned up... then some add some race gas [>_<]

haha sorry I'm waiting to use my buddies HD video camera this weekend, plus its rather hard to pilot a BAT car and take a video at the same time

Still a 1.8. I dyno'd last summer in a last minute thing at a local tuner and came in at 340whp at 22-23lbs with 93oct. I'm probably going to go back to that same dyno so my new numbers will be in perspective and I'll still be on 93oct as well.

Wow, that's a strong running car. A HTA30r is in my future somewhere down the line so it's always fun seeing updates on A4s with them.

500whp on race gas??[:D]

With the bigger turbo you can up the boost even more no? Say 35lbs? Hot damn would that be fast!!!!!

Just droppin by to drop a little b6 love on this thread !

Hey man great work on the car. It looks great. Did you make the IM yourself ? Looking forward to some dyno results. What did you put down before ?

I don't know if I would get that optimistic but I would say 450whp is definetely in reach with some race gas and high boost. The billet compressor wheel isn't supposed to really shine until I get over >30psi. I'm interested to see exactly how much whp the cams, I/M, and TB gave me.

Sure did. I picked up a the AEB runners with the CNC backplate already welded on from Issam and tried to replicate the INA manifold design. I don't have a TIG machine so I just tacked all the pieces together for the plenum using my MIG and then brought everything to a local welding shop to have them do all the TIG welding. Its such a good feeling to look at something and know that you made it yourself and had it turn out nice.

I dyno'd last year on a mustang and came in at 340whp on stock cams, I/M, and throttle body. I was running about 23 psi and 93oct.

Thats great man. I was looking into having one like that made myself but I couldn't find the needed materials. I'm currently in the process of tryong to make more power as well.

This is my setup
-3076
-SPA Manifold
-630cc
-Revo GTRS file
-AMB engine
-26psi
-343awhp

Looking good. Seems like the B6 guys are leading the big turbo train nowadays. Are you going to get some cams?I'm also running a 034 IIC ecu so its pretty easy for me to tune for any changes to my set up.

I picked up the 3.5" Aluminum bends you see on the side of the manifold from http://www.sharpeproducts.com/ they have a ton of different material/size mandrel bends if you ever need to make an exhaust component or any thing. I had a hell of a time finding that 3.5" mandrel bent aluminum though. The 1/8" flat sheet was from discountsteel.com. That CNC back plate with the velocity stacks from Issam definitely saved me a ton of work and $ but if I were to do it again though I think I would probably just cough up the $ for Issam's INA manifold. I'm sure he has it down to a science producing these things by now anyway.

Actually Im way behind the curve. Most B6'rs with 30R's and good tuning are over 400wheel. I think that I'm going to max out my hardware before I switch software. Im still waiting for Maestro.

There are a couple of B6 guys that are running 26psi and making just over 400AWHP. Funny how I'm only making 340AWHP though, I think that it had alot to do with the Revo. Although they do have built AEB heads and custom IM's.

I'll be adding an Apikol IM with a VR6 TB, here in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully this should get me over the 360AWHP mark. I will be keeping boost levels that same to see the gains that are made with the manifold
