98a4 1.8t Long story short. Started the car and got welcomed with a rough idle and flashing CEL. Codes ran p0302 I believe, cylinder 2 misfire. Changed the coil and spark plug nothing. Took the car to a guy that I thought knew what he was doing. He said the fuel injector was clogged and changed it. no dice. So, I'm thinking probably ICM, based on the forums. He comes to same conclusion after chasing the cylinder 2 wires back to the ICM. I thought the ICM was on top of the airbox, however, he is chasing the wire back to a metal box in the top right corner of the engine bay with wires coming out of it. What I thought was the ICM he is calling the emission control unit. Every time I look up ICM the pictures are for the unit on top of the airbox held down with two bolts. What is the thing in the right corner? Anybody in the north georgia area? Thanks for any advice.

Icm=ignition control module located on the air box. It controls spark.

ecu=engine control module. It controls almost everything.

Yep, sounds like a bad ICM to me. It lives on top of the airbox.
