hey, I searched but couldn't find any info on what I need for the 2 piece to 1 piece headlight conversion.

I have a '99 and I recently bought '01 s4 headlights with hids. Now I know that I need to trim the fenders but what do I do about the connector on the new lights? I know that I can use the existing turn signal I have now, I just need to trim one of the tabs. But do I need to get a harness for the new connector?

yes, to do a clean install you will need the connector housings and wires/terminals for the new headlights.

i'm in the same situation.
i found a thread that shows how to do the plugging.
But i dont have time to do it so i might just buy the adaptor from ecs.
thanks for the link a4t. "wish granted"

There are people whom can use their existing connector. What I think they did was just splice them into the correct wire inside the headlamp, then placed a whole bunch of silicone in the connector housing. I can not recall. Personally, I would say to just source conectors from somehwere like A&P, then splice them in. The ECS units are pricey. When I sold my 1 peice headlights to an individual whom was upgrading, I helped him source out connectors. A&P gave him all 4 connectors for like $25+shipping. This was over a year and a half ago, though.

ok, i took a look at the ecs harness it looks good, I also contacts A&P but hey didnt get back to me yet. Now, the ecs harness will work with the xenon valeos right? These are the VH2 with DS2 bulbs. I just want to make sure before I spend $60 on a harness.

The connectors are all the same, as long as they are the D shaped connector.

Damn, 60 dollars for headlight harness's? Did you price the connector housings and wires from the dealer? I think it's cheaper.
