Crimp clamps suck ass. So i decided i would do my DV install today. So i take the undertray off, loosen the screw clamp on the DV and then i get to the crimp clamp. The AWE instructions say tin snips work...they don't. Long story short i ended up drilling the damn thing but to no avail. Why would audi use a screw clamp on one of the hoses but crimp clamps on the others, whats purpose is there to that?!! Screw it i'm having it installed w/ my exhaust...grumble

I have always hated changing my DV because of the spot it's in. Just a real PITA to work in that tight area.

the key to gettin that crimp clamp off that AWE neglects to mention in their directions is that the overlap part is on the upper side, the side that's virtually impossible to see, so yu're prolly prying in the wrong place. try to lie down with yur feet facing the back of the car and slide a flat head screw driver on top facing towards the back of the car too and it will catch on the overlapping part, then u can try to pry them apart form there. it took me liek 2 hours to figure htis part out

My Snap-ON snips clipped right through mine like nothing. I guess if the tool is sharp enough it'll work.

These are what I have. I tell you it might be the best tool I own. Not once have I not been able to cut through something with them.

i jsut did my dv, if you use sharp enough snips it will work, jsut cut off the part that they clamped, you know the little knub that sticks out. snip that and your worrie free. good luck, sucky place!!!

cute.....

any way i was able to move the screw. Just use a really small snub screwdriver so you can actually get your hand and the screw driver in there.

Yeah, if you can't get that crimp clamp, just hit the end of the hose with the snips, cant be more than 1cm of hose you use. Then use a good German hose clamp to install the new one...
