so finally i am chip my car tomorrow... i was choosing from Unitronic at 034 motorsports or APR at palo alto....after all the search i did, i am ready to go for apr...

so will that chip lower my MPG? and do i HAVE to get the FMIC??

and i heard a lot of u who has 02 a4 ending up with lean code after apr chipped in... opinions please. thx a lot.

final question : should i get that R1 dv or should i get something else??

I was actually able to get better gas milage after getting my car chipped (APR). I would suggest yo uget a fmic if you went with the 1+ tune. Not sure about the B6, but I got myself a 710n (new for like $40) and it worked great, didn't rip or anything.

I would go with Unitronics if I had to do it again since APR doesn't really offer anything else for the future but their expensive stage 3 stuff.

And the lean code issue is probably the stock injectors running at max duty cycle and thus not being able to provide enough fuel.

Not 100% true. APR does offer more items for the B6 than most other cars.

I guess that's true if you put it that way. I think what I meant was if op has any plans of going stage 3, unitronics would be the cheaper way to go due to the high price of the apr stage 3/3+.

thx a lot Darren... car feels much lighter and 3rd and 4th gear really pulls like no one is infront .... as what u said, i just bought 710N from the Stealership, i will install it later. also, no shops carry k&n air filters for my car around me, had to wait til tomorrow to get it... now i am officially in the club hehe

Return the 710N to the stealership. I have a used one that I picked up from speedy that I never installed. Sell it to you for $20. Let me know.
