I was lucky enough to get my hands on a complete set of brakes from an '09 D3 S8. I installed them this last weekend on my 2000 Short Wheel Base A8.
I had already upgraded the rear to the D2 S8 280mm rotors and Aluminum D2 S8 Calipers. I will install the D3 S8 rear brakes in the next few weeks. I had to order the rear caliper carrier. The rears are 335mm.
The fronts are now 385mm (15.1") with the match D3 S8 2 piston calipers.
(the car came with 312mm up front)

These things are massive even behind my 20x8.5" I have up front

rotor are junk, if you turned them they would be to skinny.
Calipers and Carriers are cherry. The brake pads only have about 2k on them. I did cut the connector of the front pads to use with the new ones but there is plenty of wire left to solder some back on. I am going to sell all the OEM Stuff. I am pretty sure that the 312mm stuff is an upgrade for the B5's

Nice mod!!
I've got RS6 (365mm) rotors with Audi 8 pot calipers on the front of mine, and have to say that they are superb. Having spent the weekend throwing my '8 around Castle Combe in the UK, I can happily say that I out-broke (is that even a word?) all of the other 8's out there, and perhaps some others too :D

The RS6 Setup is awesome!! the 8 pot caliper is the same ones they are using on the smaller lambo. Not to mention the 2 piece rotor and 8 pot caliper are much more advanced then the D3 S8 set up. At least it is massive, haha.
I had got my hands on 1 RS6 caliper but ran out of luck after that.
I came across this D3 S8 set up and had to grab it!
You 2 guys with the RS6 Set up please post pictures.

Did it require anything special or do they mount up to the stock points

i had to double take to make sure that rotor mm was right, yep, it says 385mm [hail]
Nice bolt-on upgrade for sure.[up] I recently fit S8 D2 front brakes to an A8L D2, all the fun of changing the entire front wheel bearings housings, however well worth the work since the S8 suspension was going on the A8L too.
Cheers!

It sounds cheesy but its as close to super car braking as I will get with out having a super car.
My car is a face lift car, with the 40v engine and everything else. but its was actually built 7 or 8 of 99 so it still had the 312mm rotors up front with the single piston caliper and non vented solid rear rotors in back.
Along with these brakes up front I also upgraded the rear to D2 S8 a few months ago. The change from stock to what I have now is amazing. I have the rear rotors from the D3 S8 and the D2 S8 calipers I have now will work, all I need are the caliper carriers and I'll install the matching 335mm D3 S8 rear brakes.

I still have the D2 S8 front 4 piston Brembo's I originally planned on using.
They are in great shape with all the lines and brackets along with a matching set of brand new EBC green stuff pads.
I will start a new post but they are for sale is anyone is getting the brake upgrade itch.

I cannot take my eyes of that photo of your car, it looks amazing. The colour, the wheels and ride height is just perfect. I love it. I have a few questions. What ride height are you running? I am fitting coilovers soon and your height is perfect. Do you still have the part number for the D3 front calipers, and again. Your car looks so awesome.

My car came stock with super tiny non vented rear rotors. A little while before I did the D3 S8 front brake set up I upgraded to D2 S8 rears rotors (280mm) and calipers.
I have the stock D3 S8 rear rotors (335mm) and the D2 S8 calipers will work but I still need to machine the rear caliper adapter so make it work.
I'll make sure to post when I do in case anyone wants a set for there own upgrade.
Thanks to everyone for the complements. I was die hard early VW water cooled (mk1 & mk2) guy for most my life but have ALWAYS wanted to hook up a Short Wheel Base D2. Glad you guys like how its turning out so far.

Will 18" wheels clear the front? or is it a 19" min?

I needed to use this thread as a reference. so I thought I would add OEM part numbers in case someone needed them. Part numbers provided by ECStuning.com
front caliper
4E0615123E
4E0615124E
pair of rotors
4E0698301KKT
all 4 pads
4E0698151KKT
OEM pads will not fade on a road course (mid ohio) driving 8/10 with a 05 W12. They dust like hell though.
