i've got the VMR v709's and my front right is slightly bent. it's not letting any air out of the tire so it's not all that bad but is it real bad to keep riding on it?

the way it happened was that the construction ppl on one of the roads decided to tear up a strip of the road for some reason on a 40mph limit road and i hit it at that speed cuz it was pretty much hidden. is there any way i can get the contractors to pay for it or am i SOL?

A. My friend has had this problem and you can make the state pay for a new wheel

B. its not the end of the world but I would get that repaired soon, it will run you maybe $100.

yeah i'm not stressing too much considering that no air is being released. this happened last week and i just noticed it now. hopefully the state will pay for it.

Good luck with the construction people. I was hit by some sheetmetal debris on the freeway from Cal Trans, down here in San Diego. I filled out a bunch of paper work, several phone calls, blah, blah, it's not there fault, etc. They just delay and delay until you go away.

Anyways get that rim straightened out. I mean that literally.

If it's not too bad a wheel repair shop will heat the entire wheel up and straighten it out. Some discoloration may occur, but they're pretty good at matching finishes. Last time I had it done on a set of RS4 reps it was roughly a $100 bucks.

As far as damage occuring from a bent wheel, perhaps it might cause some excessive load on the wheel bearings other than that you should be fine.

PA will jut give you the run around and will ultimately not pay you anything for the wheel. States and cities usually have legal immunity in such instances. You would have to bring a lawsuit against the construction company for not posting signs and for leaving the construction site in an un-driveable condition.
