Hello, So I picked up some OEM Audi Headlights from a 2000 Audi A4
and installed them in my 98.5 A4.
Also Picked up a DDM 55w 6000k HID kit and installed those.

So here are the pics!

Testing them, With Halogen bulbs...

Testing them with HID

And their in!

Ok so here are some before and afters
They are all with the same Shutter speed, ISO and F stop so their pretty accurate.

NOTE: Locations aren't flat. lol So yeah....

Location 1 with Hallogen bulbs. Shutter 1 second.
And then same location, With HID, Shutter 1 second

Location 2 with Hallogen, Shutter 1 second,
And then same location with HID, Shutter 1 second

Location 3 with hallogen, then HID, Both 1 sec

Location 4, Same as above, first hallogen then HID, 1 sec shutter speeds

And a 30 sec shutter for fun. :P

Also, Maybe I'm special but I used my 98 Harness on the 00 lights, 100%. Even the Round turn signal plug and bulb!

See! I didn't have to cut, splice etc....

Now, For the possible problem.
How do I check if DDM sent me 55w and 6000k?
The ballast is black, How do I check the bulbs?

they seem too Blue for what they should be....

I was told and it even says on their site, 55w will look about 2000k Less
than what they are because it washes out compared to 35w.

Also I'm kinda sad, There seems to be allot of glare... Shouldn't
it be better? I mean, look at the Wall pic... IDK I know their 10 year old
housings but just seems like my old had a better cut off with less glare....

Let me know what you all think.

for the glare problem, try re-aiming your headlights in terms of left and right direction

You think their too close together?

Does the whole front bumper need to come off to put the facelift headlights into a preface?

the difference between the 6000k and the 5000k kits from ddm is not marked I've had both in my hands at the same time and the only difference is the color of the, for lack of a better word, stem running parallel to actual bulb. IF i remember right it should be white if its 6k and blue for a 5k. you can always contact them if your worried but 6k should have a lil blue if you look at it from the outer edge of the beam

example of what i'm calling the "stem"

disclaimer these are not ddm bulbs just the first two that came up on a google image search.

Now for the right wattage their are two models they look exactly the same except the orientation of the DDM logo. there was a post on this earlier. I cant remember which is which. search and i think you'll find it

Well thanks guys
Yeah I got the 55w and my "Stem" is also white.

They seem super blue from head-on though.

Even a friend who had 10,000k said they were pretty blue, He got rid of the 10 though.

I might look into getting the 5000k is their a Bit less blue and brighter.

I haven't been flashed, Even when they Were TOO HIGH when I first installed them
and drove to test them.

PS: Yes, you have to remove the bumper, Because there is a torx screw on the Under side of the headlight
on the pre-facelifts. Now that these are in, I don't have to remove the bumper because the face lifts don't have em.
They only have the two on top....

Both lights have the small round Slot they slide in on the bottom inside near the grill....

I used my stock harness, Even my turn signal bulbs. I thought it was more easy this way.... Not having to splice and cut
everything like all the DIY's show....

I took pics of everything I did, EVEN the cutting of the fender. I did that because I couldn't find anything with Specific pics of
the cutting. It's no where near as bad as thought it would be. I used a dremel with a reinforced wheel for cutting metal and
it worked like butter
