I have a '97 2.8QM that I am about to change the timing belt on. Some jackass put green coolant in the system as it is now murky orange. What should I use now? I dont want to run the chance of ruining expensive pentosin coolant as my system has had ethylene glycol introduced. Should I stick with green coolant now or Dex-cool? What should I use?

i would just flush it. that way you wont have any problems in the future, so flush and put g12 in. or i guess you could put green coolant in there just make sure to get all the old stuff out.

With what? G12? Green?

I was thinking about going to green coolant since it will cost me close to $80 in coolant alone (with shipping).

Not green nor orange. G12 pink coolant. Just get it from a VW or Audi dealership. Easiest way to get it.

I don't have one around me. What other coolant can I use?

You can use whatever coolant you want (ie. green, orange, G12, etc.) as long as you flush all the old shit out. Personally I would never run anything but G12 in my car.

^The coolant tank itself says to only use G12.

You guys think 22.95+tax is fair for the big bottle (I assume gallon, not 1.5L)

Flush the entire system with water and then add the proper Pentosin.

To flush you can remove the lower readiator hose and stick a garden hose in the coolant overflow tank. Once the liquid looks clear you should be good.

The old AFC motors came with the green AUDI coolant.
