Im having an issue with my brakes (i think) I just replaced the front and rears (hawk brand) but not the rotors (at about 38000 miles) and im hearing a clamping nose whenever i press on the brake pedal. My buddy said to adjust the spring b/c it might not be on correctly. I adjusted it and it looks fine..[confused] help please..

Does it sound like a loud "click"?

That's the same issue I have. Already went to dealer once, not fixed yet.

Same problem here.... I've been told it wasn't my brakes.... I've gone through my suspension install 2 times.... me still thinks its the brakes.

My click noise only comes with a change in direction, meaning if I go forward and stop, then reverse stop, I get a click, but if I reverse again without going forward, no click.

I had a couple threads about this:

have you found the source of the ticking noise?

i think it has to do with the caliper clip, it happens.

I have the same problem its the anti rattle clip. Mine does it when i go over bumps and i am not on the brakes.

i think its the caliper clip too but what do I do to make it stop making that clicking noise? my buddy told me to try to adjust it (b/c it might not be seated correctly?) I tried taking it out and putting it back in but i still get the noise.

Mine is because the hawk pads came with the wrong tabs for the anti rattle clip, so I am running clip less. I assume that maybe you didn't put the clip in correctly? You possibly have the wrong tab on your pads aswell. If you still have your stock pads, there is a diy on how to switch tabs from stock to your hawk.
