View Full Version : Car alarm on, lock unlocked...help appreciated

Alrighty so I went to publix today, locked my car from the outside with my physical key..shopped...came outside, went to unlock my car, and my key just spins in the keyhole.

So my friend calls AAA and they come out, pop my door open and unlock it via inside button. Now the drivers side door is unlocked, car alarm is going off but I can get inside. The car won't start because of anti-theft and it keeps on going off.

I'm guessing something is off a hook inside the door trim, just wondering if anyone could provide insight before I go back and take off my trim in a grocery store parking lot, with the car alarm going off(I will definitly have ID and title on me).

Thanks guys

And I don't have my remote key...

Try the passenger door? Worth a shot

2000's don't have a passenger door lock. Try the trunk though. If you have the radio code for your car, unhook the negative terminal for about a minute to get the alarm to shut off.

You'll probably need a new lock cylinder.

Trunk didn't work, it was weird it the key only went in half way. If I unplugged my battery would that turn off the alarm? How do people steal these cars so easily...

Unplugged battery, car alarm is off. And thats how you steal an A4...

definitely can turn on and off with the trunk.
