I've been looking at the HFC's I believ most prople are using 034's. So what are your impressions and issues. Seems like possibly the second best mod for the money (next to chipping the car). Any cel's or other issues? Does the tranny type matter? Does anyone else make a HFC for or cars?

Thanks in advance for your input.

anyone of you guys running GIAC with a hfc? I know they dont have a file for a TP, but not sure if a hfc would mess shit up with my tune? TIA.[up]

going to sell my test pipe and buy (probably the 034) a HFC

the most noticable gain is quicker turbo spool

I have the 034 HFC, but I haven't put it on yet because I'm waiting to get a downpipe for it as well. What downpipes are you guys using with it. If you have a custom, what diameter.

I have a tiptronic by the way.

Very happy with my 034 hfc. No problems with fitment at all, and the welds are very nice. Installation was a breeze, and I only got a cel because I didn't plug in my maf sensor cable all the way. Completely my own stupid fault. I put up a thread a few days ago with my install methods. Pretty easy and straight forward as long a you have the right tools. Definitely a mod worth doing. Also, 034 has been very responsive with emails and are very friendly and helpful. I can't say enough good things about it.

Flat and Phillips screw drivers (to remove airbox and underbody panel)
10mm spline bolt (to remove mid-brace)
12 & 13 mm wrenches
13, 17 mm sockets (I might have used a 14 or a 15 as well, but I can't remember)
socket wrench
2 or 3 foot socket extender
wire clippers (for a zip tie)
o2 sensor socket
a light
Jack
jackstands

Good to know - thanks for the info! I see you are in VA too - will there be any issues for us passing emissions tests?

At least in northern va, all cars after 1996 use the odb-ii plug for emissions testing. As long as your car is not throwing a check engine light, and blue smoke is not coming out of your pipes, you should legally pass. I have the defouler spacer installed on mine. No smell, no cel, so I should pass with flying colors. Since it is an actual hfc, you will also pass the visual inspection. If you had a test pipe, and software update to remove the cel, you could still fail on visual inspection of the cat, and if the inspector is a d1ck, he can fail you if blue smoke is coming out of the pipes plus the smell.

Thanks - looks like I'll be making another 034 order! Where did you get that defouler from?

hit them up if you have any questions. they were very helpful for me.

034 on a tiptronic (APR 93) here also. Very pleased with results. Highway the car goes to 6th and locks up the converter and lugs it out. Backroads in sport mode are really fun. I had my first check engine light but it was when I blew my diverter valve. I have the spacer from 034 but I have the testpipe APR 93 software so it shouldn't kick a CEL no matter what.

Just a heads up for those that are in need of a HFC. I waited a really long time for 034 to get the stock ready to take orders again. Got fed up and did some research. Labree Motorsports makes this pipes along with any other exaust parts you could want for our cars. 2 week turnaround for a great product!

Go to race werks in Virginia Beach they can install the stage 2 flash and it will clear and CEL that you might be getting from the HFC

Sounds like he might already have either that or the Stage II+ (at least from what I read)

034 does take a while. 5 weeks for me, but the product quality is top notch and I couldn't be happier. Laszlo was also a big help and made sure I was taken care of.[up]

I ordered 034 HFC about 4 weeks ago. Few days ago I slammed my downpipe into a sewer cap and ruined it. So I cancelled my HFC order and went to Labree for a HFC and downpipe. Its going to be about another 2 weeks before I get it. I feel like I have been waiting for a HFC forever.

No TP for me, gotta pass emissions and keep the exhaust noise down.

Guess I made it unclear. the torque gains are impressive. Very few cars I have driven even V8's when at highway speed and are climbing a hill will stay in high gear and grunt it out. Most either unlock the torque converter to gain RPM or down shift. Its impressive to have a little 2.0 stay in 6th and keep the torque converter locked up (unlocking the torque converter lowers gas mileage but the "slip" allows more rpm to try and make more torque before a downshift). Its the closest I've ever seen a gas car run like a diesel.

There's a whole lot of VA in this thread.... Hola guys! BTW smitchell08, when I read your thread and then read that in was in VA I wasn't surprised at all. VA roads SUCK, especially around Richmond. I want to do a HFC and DP really bad, but I don't know if I want to wait 5 weeks for 034. Any info on the GAIC or Labree?

I PM'ed Laszlo from 034 last night but haven't heard back yet. Don't know if 034 is still working on a 5-6 week schedule or what. It appears that Labree takes at least 2 weeks to to their thing based on the post earlier.

yeah i looked at some other companies and same product ranged around $500 for the same thing, talked to a representative there and the customer service seems to be ridiculously good which is usually good enough for me, they have all the proof on their website of gains which is another sign of credibility. Just seemed like the best deal with best service

I can't argue that their customer service is less than spectacular - I know first hand and the price does seem very reasonable. I just can't figure out what the 5-6 week wait is about...

The 034 sounds very tempting. Is there a reason why the Milltek is priced around $1k? It would definately be helpful to hear more reviews from those who have already installed their HFCs. I think I will be saving the HFC for next summer as I have blown my budget on replacement parts/mods.

Your right the roads around here are horrible there are basically speed bumps on the highway, ridiculous. Let me know if there are any GTG you know about. When I get my Labree HFC and downpipe ill let you know how it is.

I've been waiting for my 034 HFC for almost 2 months, I was told it was shipped 1 month ago and then most recently I was told I hasn't been shipped. I've sent 4 emails requesting a tracking number and continue getting the same response......"tomorrow, tomorrow".

I know they make a great product, but for the money we pay they need a lesson in customer service.

Wow. I'm surprised. Laszlo has been very responsive to me though email. Very friendly and helpful. Hopefully everyone in here can get in touch with them. I'm still very happy with my purchase.

If anyone's going to be at h20 this weekend, and wants a ride to see how it looks/sounds, come find me. Just ask around for p1nk50ck in the brilliant red. I'll be at rose's on Saturday for the meet.

I agree about the customer service. They were very helpful and informative about there product. But I got a HFC and DP for 500 shipped from Labree, and they were just as helpful and informative. Both companys are made to order so no big difference on time. I'm not bashing 034 I know they make very good products, I'm just giving the other companys a shot.
Ill let you know how the Labree is.
