I am currently running the VMR RS4 replicas on my car right now in matte black but I want something with a more mirror finish. The Ultraleggeras say Matte Black but look as if they have a mirrored finish to them. Can anyone here help me out with this and tell me if I am correct?

Thanks,
Austin

no they are matte black too, you want a gloss black

Ultraleggeras are definitely matte black and get more dull as the OEM brake dust piles on. You should also take brake dust into accound with the "mirror finish." You'll be cleaning your wheels a lot if you want to keep them shiny, unless you have low dust brake pads.

Throw some clear coat on the VMR's.

What he said... unless you are going for the weight savings of the OZ's.

Yeah having wheels painted is not expensive.. if you like the reps get them re painted!

But the leggeras are great wheels -- if you have the $ I'd go for them anyway.

I have these rims, they are matte black but do look shinny when you throw degreaser on them.. But to powder coat them can get kinda expensive

How much "shinnier" are powder coated black than matte? How much duller than "gloss black"?
Can you take a powder coated set and just have them clear coated or painted gloss black?

Sorry for the micro hijack but I am looking at similar wheels.

Thanks

Mine are matte black but I've seen like the new Porsche cayenne, those are like suppper matte black like foggy black, if you powder coat them they will be like glossy black, just search for pics of cars with glossy black rims that'll give you an idea

Looks great.
Kind of hard to tell about the "glossyness" in the shade though.

^^ I like the look on those. I just can't stand when my rims get even a bit dirty because they start to look really bad. Maybe I will look into getting them clear coated.
