View Full Version : Will exhaust mods for S4 4.2L work on my A6 4.2L?

Sorry, if this is a stupid question. Information about C6 A6s doesn't seem terribly abundant, and I seem to be one of the very few with a C6 4.2L. I was curious, since, from what I gather, the engines from both my car and the S4 are the same, will the aftermarket exhaust mods for an S4 fit on my A6?

Feel free to school me...

i dont think so, even if they are the same motor there is alot more car to the a6 then there is to the s4, so a catback system for example would be like a foot too short

Ah, yes. Very good point. Wish these were sold with extension adapters like they do in the Nissan/Infiniti world. =(

Both Eisenmann and Miltek design exhaust sytems for the C6 4.2.

S4 4,2L V8 40V motor isvery different to the 4,2L V8 40V in your A6.

S4 is 079 series block, your A6 will be the 077 series. The cylinder blocks and heads are totally different.

Really? I don't think I mentioned this but my A6 is a 2005. Does that make a difference?

Nobody seems to carry the Miltek system. I saw the Youtube video of the Avant 4.2L and I seriously shivered - it sounded amazing!

While in other years the 4.2 engines were different, for 2005 and 2006 the 4.2 in the A6 was the same engine as was in the 2005 and 2006 S4.

Anchor Audi in Lynbrook and Stratmosphere in Victor are both Milltek dealers in New York.

I figured our 4.2s and the 4.2 in the B6 S4 were identical. Thanks, Kevin.

I know, but neither of them carry the exhaust. You think perhaps I can call them and ask?

Unless, they're listing the exhaust under the S4 section, which is why I ask if it'll be compatible with my car.

Ah, for some reason, I was thinking of the C5 A6, my mistake.

I am sure that they will order it for you. Its just that there are so few of our cars, and even fewer that are being modded, that it does not make any sense to keep it in stock.
