Just picked up a gixxer 600 this weekend. Washed and waxed my A4 right before it rained [>_<].

Decided to use some of the money I was going to mod the A4 with to buy a bike. I'll get more in return in the long run [drive]

Already have mad respect for this thing. Of course, definitely always respecting the B7 [hail]

Nice Gixxer BTW! Here's mine. Currently for sale. Had a baby in May and the bike kinda sits right now. Gonna use the money for DP on a
wakeboard boat next year hopefully. Or by a Buel XB12S.

Very clean... I have been wanting a bike for a while now but every time I try to save up some money for one, something comes up that depletes all my savings [:(] If I had something set aside now, I would snatch that up in a heartbeat... looks sick...

Yea, had a baby in May and the bikes have been sitting. The black one is my wife's. I figure I'll get way more use out of a boat in the coming years then I will a bike. I want to be that family that is out doing stuff not sitting at home. Plus my priorities have changed and I'm not really down with the super sport bikes anymore either. I might by a buell if/ when I sell my gixxer.

Sorry for the mini thread hijack as well.

Yup the wheels act like gyro at high speed making the bike more stable and less willing to turn. This is one of the many reasons that makes it very dangerous for new riders.

Some advice: Buy some good gear (I've seen people get messed up at riding schools too) Go take some courses they will teach how to ride, get your license and after go for more courses. Start on something small and cheap( i know it doesn't look cool but if you really like to ride it will be of little significance when you start.) This will save you money and with the gear; skin. When you are ready to move on to something bigger again get something relatively cheap. One thing to remember with the bigger faster bikes; form equals function. These are race bikes with street make-up, you must have the utmost respect at all times or they will remind you of it. Also remember get gear; i have crash tested the stuff several times it works. It will save you from possible pain and suffering.

If you show you father you are serious about you safety, responsible and won't go out and get a too fast for you bike; he may be reasonable. Crawl before you walk and walk before you run.

Don't be a statistic heed my advice.

^^^^ What he said^^^ 130 second time on a bike with no gear is REALLY STUPID! You need to have respect for the bike and get some gear. You need MSF or at least read the DMV handbook. Wise up son, bikes are not toys and you can die in a second.

That's a nice black. I'm getting either an all black or blue/white K7 750 and the strip the GXR sticker off the fronts so it has a better flow. I'm soooo glad I don't have to tip toe while sitting on the bike.

You think the Honda is shorter than the Gixxer? Crazy, I've always thought the Gixxer sat lower. My wife is 5'4" and can flat foot her K7 Gixxer 600. It's stock height too.

This is a 750. The easiest way to tell are by the headlights and the exhaust. The 1000's run dual pipes and are slightly fatter.

Im sure youve all had friends that have been in accidents, but I cant stress enough to be careful out there. I lost a good friend in 07 to a telephone pole, and just lost a friend of the families who rear ended a car at 100+ mph and lost his arm immediately and died 3 days later. Respect the bike and the road, because its you against the world out there.
