30% will be good and classy. Id show you mine but i have tint of the front window and you wouldn't be able to do that so it would be a pointless picture. But 30% is good, 20% even better if you can get away with it.

Id suggest looking at the tint thread. Plenty of pics on there to get an idea.

I really wanted 15% because that by far looks the best and you can still see at night. I have friends with 5% and when I drive their cars at night in Seattle I just about kill everyone in the crosswalks because all I see is black. I went 30% all the way around to stay legal because they are starting to crack down on that here. Also the shop I got it from had a lift time warranty. Even if its my fault I scraped it. Still looks way better then stock and it's dark enough to give me some privacy. I'd go with the non metal based tints if you want some cell phone reception. At least that is what the tint guys told be, even tho the entire car is made of metal and I still have good reception. Any facts on this claim? I did it just to be safe.

Tint laws in VA = 50% front 35% rear. I've got 35% all around on 2 cars and no issues.

I have 35% all around and I'm happy with it. I've had 20% on my first car in high school & college and it was the look I was going for, but I like the 35%....looks more classy (pic below)....just my opinion.

Go with 30%. Clean enough to not get the Popo's on your tail, but dark enough to give the aggressive look. Also do go with a tint that is non-metalized. I recommend Johnson Greystone

this is 20% all around and 70% on the front. my neighbor is a cop and couldnt even tell i had anything on the front. The laws are enforced around here, but you can normally get away with 20%. I've had it on all my cars and have never had any trouble. The new 70% though is amazing.. it's like 95 degrees out and it feels amazing in my car.

I did 35% on light silver metallic, and wish I had gone just a little darker. Maybe 30-25% range. No darker, or you will get hassled all the time.

I'm also in VA. They are strict out here so I went with 35% all around.

I had 30% all around, 20% back on a silver B6. They looked real nice, but when it was dark out you could still see out. But it probably helped that I had these Hi-Def advanced ceramic tints. (block more heat, see out better)

Taking our DG Avant in later this week. Haven't decided exactly what yet, but probably looking at something in the 35% range. I've outgrown the super dark tint phase. And like in VA, the laws are enforced here in CA, so probably end up with noting on the fronts. Not worth the harassment.

I had 15 all the way around but got 2 250 dollar tickets within the first week of moving back to chicago from Colorado where it was legal. I loved the look of it especially against my dark blue car with an already black interior, just sooo dark -----So dark you need a flashlight to see me---
But driving at night was sort of sketchy, hard to see pedestrians with front windows up and backing up in dark parking lots is also a bit tricky.

If i could do it again i would do 35 all the way around, now i just have 15 on the backs and back windshield and nothing on the fronts and i hate it, going to put like a 35 on the fronts to try to blend it a bit

hope thats helpful input

If I could get away with that an NOT get a ticket - I'd do it.

Here's my 35% (all around)

Here's my 30%. It looks pretty dark in pics but in person it's not dark to the point where it looks ghetto but still looks pretty mean. Night time visibility isn't too bad either.

mark625, that's 15%? It looks lighter. See mine above yours. I wonder if mine is darker than 30. I bought the car used and the guy I bought it from said it was 30%. Hmmmm...

Yeah, yours is NOT 30% - just compare it to my picture above yours - I have 35% - shouldn't be that much of a difference. You have either 15 or 10...

I'd say anywhere from 20-35%. I went 35% (Madico Charcool) myself all around and looks real classy IMO. Not the best pic but here it is the day it was tinted.

it may depend on the type of film. Also maybe the blackout chrome may cause the tint to appear darker

Yeah, I think you're right. Again, it looks mich lighter in person. You can easily see right through the car. But I guess it is def darker than 30%.

Yours looks exactly like mine, and mine is 20% all around. I love how my 20% blends in with the black trim of my titanium package.

i want to get my windows done now! 35% looks perfect - pretty OEM i think & the UK laws are tight, so i probably can't go darker.... that and, as it's miserable weather mostly, i don't want to hinder visibility any more!

Good point but that would/should only affect the color...not make that much of a difference in darkness.

i was skeptical at first when i saw my car when it was finished. i think it looks more like 20% but maybe just because the light comes in through the front windshield making it appear lighter

I have 35 on everything but the rear, that's 20...if I had to do it again, I'd do 20 all the way around, dark enough so not much to see from outside and light enough to see out at night. I am happy with the 35 though and it is a classy look (won't post a pic since there are already a few black cars up there with similar).

and to tankdeer...I've had 35 up front (driver/passenger) in SD and been okay driving up and down I15, it really depends on their mood though. :/ If you're concerned but like the tint up front keep the sunshade open :)

I just picked up my 07 S Line 2 weeks ago and just had it tinted. This is 15% pretty dark hence the reason i got pulled over for it in RI the night i picked the car up. asshole didnt care about the tint told me to remove the tinted plate covers... kinda pays to know cops.

Formula One Pinnacle Series 35% all around to keep it classy. Whatever % you decide to go with, keep it the same % all around. IMO.
