Video: OEM vs JHM Extra Short Throw

I haven't seen a before and after video so thought I would make one. I ordered the extra short throw 45% reduction kit and love the solid feel but haven't had a chance for a full test [drive]

Thanks for the video. I've been considering the JHM short throw shifter, but didn't know which one I wanted to go with. How is the day-to-day driving? Does it feel "notchier"? Any issues getting through the gates while driving normally?

Anticipating the "full test" review. If you're anything like me, then you like to flat foot the shifts at the upper end from time to time!

Took it out for a short drive, not notchy at all! I love how it is "solid" so you can actually feel the gears engage. One thing to note is that it's more work to shift during normal driving, you use more force but it's worth it to me for the precision. When driving enthusiastically, this shifter is extremely rewarding, simply amazing IMO.



how was the install?

Removal was a snap, had all the right tools and that really helped. The biggest issue for me was getting the aluminum pivot into the base. Reinstall takes a little more time but not difficult, just time consuming. Since I have the extra short throw, I had to install the 1/4" spacers which was "fun" [wrench]

I ordered the "extra" short throw shifter to get more reduction in throw (45%) and it only comes in 1/2" shorter than stock.

cool review, you can definitely tell the difference. Short throw really makes a difference to me, the first thing i did to my Audi was get one. I got the Neuspeed though.

took me and a buddy around 4 hours... but we get distracted easily
