Ok so I was in the process of removing my alternator..

Top bolt of thet bracket i was using an allen wrench 6 mm. For some reason the bottom is slightly bigger and sizes 7 or 8 mm wouldnt fit.

Has this happen to anyone or is this normal?

You think it might be an english bolt? I dont feel like removing my front end to see it..

It, very well may be a 6.5mm

Metric allens use half sizes.

Actually i kind of wrote this wrong.. 7 was a little smaller.. Do they have 7.5 mm? I've gone to shucks, autozone, and sears none have 7.5

Yup I have a 7.5, I got it from a craftsman kit I bought, the ones with 900pc so idk what to tell ya, try standards sometimes they get close. Its just depends on feel, only you can tell.

if that alt may have been removed before and the bolt replace - since when i took off my alt the bolt was blocked by the fan - and the only way to take it out was to cut the bolt
