For everybody that didn't get a chance to see this buried thread,
http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=306336

There was a post a few days ago with someone posting some aftermarket headlights from another forum (http://forums.fourtitude.com/zerothread?id=4529295), these IMO are probably the best bet for someone looking for B8 lights on their B7. The previous thread died out and I am just wondering if anyone has any other dirt on how to get some of these taiwan babies.

x2, I was starting to think I was the only one who likes the stock bi-xenons.

yeah idk, i was being semi sarcastic but depending on the pin layout and how much they are i might get a pair.

this might put fly 300 out of a job with his LED kits [>_<][>_<][>_<]

Don't get me wrong, I love the stock xenons, but for everybody that doesn't have them and wants something with led's to replace there halogens, wouldn't it be wiser to just buy aftermarket ones than to buy OEM bi-xenons then send them to fly to get done costing them much more time and money?

and don't get me wrong on fly's kit..I think it is an awesome mod to the stock bi's

Hey, I will swap you my crappy halogens for your xenons!! Then you can upgrade to these without any worry! [:D]

These don't look as good as the Dectane or whatever that some other people have. If the LED strip doesn't swoop up and meet the hood line then it looks stupid. The strip in these just sort of wanders out to the quarter panel and doesn't flow with the lines of the car at all.

RE: The NEW headlights:

These don't look as good as the Dectane or whatever that some other people have. If the LED strip doesn't swoop up and meet the hood line then it looks stupid. The strip in these just sort of wanders out to the quarter panel and doesn't flow with the lines of the car at all.

I like the look of the new ones inside the chamber, when they're off the car..more than anything I've seen so far. BUT, when you put them on the car.. the LEDs don't flow up to the gap between the hood and fender, so things look misaligned and "off".

Re: FLY's headlights:
Secondly, don't get me wrong -- Fly's LED's are the highest quality upgrade you can buy for your halogens/bi-xenons. But the fact remains that those chambers were not designed to have a light strip running across the bottom, so they simply look crowded.

I'm a designer and I deal with spacial relationships all day long.. and I'm telling you that putting anything along the bottom edge of our headlights simply looks "modded" and out of place -- where as these headlights, and the dectane headlights, look as if they were meant to have the LED strips from the day they were drawn up. Audi takes design VERY seriously -- if you're a "Fan" of Audi on Facebook you probably already know that. Or -- just search for some of their side projects. My point is that adding strips to the headlights wasn't in the plans, and so it's no surprise things look crowded when you do so. That being said, Fly does excellent work and if you want to keep your OEM lamps there's no other option.

Re: Dectanes:
still planning on dectanes when I buy headlights. They look OEM-enough in terms of build quality, flow with the lines of the car, and look like the LEDs were part of the plan from the beginning.

All we need is a company like dectane to beef up the materials, and quality of LED..and add another $150 or so if they need to. Then we'll have a real solution.

I think the Dectane ones look great. I am usually against wasting money on goofy mods like this, but if I didn't already have OEM bi-xenons I would consider those. They make the car look mean.

They need 2 more LEDs at the end to complete the B8 look. Damn them!

I understand my Friend [up] and I would like to use this opportunity to clarify something: I am not making strips for Business. I will never get back what I invested in this project but I really don't care. The R & D was fun and challenging.
I am here so I will be really when better times will come

Hard to tell on these. they look great, but the lines don't flow. It's good that we are getting more stuff like this out there though. No links on buying info? What does it matter if noone knows where to get them, and we can't test them out anyway.

These look better than the dectanes, IMO.

For a B7, though, I really don't think they look better than this:

Nice lights, if you like lights that totally don't follow the body lines.

GAH they are short 2 lights from perfect. Also, from what i have researched they are not bi-xenon but rather some older technology. forgot the name for now.

I'm really thinking about buying these lights and modding my oem bixenons in it....

I still think mine looks ok. :) Just wish I had sent them to Phil for a LED upgrade before I mounted them...They are a little to weak IMO.

I have seen some installed on a car driving by and the LED are barely visible in full sunlight. Redlabel, send them to me and I should be able to fix that for you

One small little problem... in both cases with these aftermarket lights, it's the projectors that have become the afterthought- they're puny and positioned in whatever space was left over after the LEDs were positioned. So you're left with very blingy LEDs that will be sure to trick everyone into thinking your Audi is the new one with those cool lights, but every time the sun sets you'll be reminded of the truth. yeah we should really see some night-time shots from within the cabin, showing output/cutoff

There we go.. everyone buy these new housings and have Fly upgrade the LEDs and projectors inside of them.. now we're getting closer to a 'best of both worlds' lamp!

You can upgrade the projectors too, right fly? lol

Easy to say... probably less to do
I have not yet had the chance to open a set of Dectane or other so I don't know if the merge of the two will be possible
