It's time to get some new tires for my '04 A8L and was curious on your personal feedback/experience running on 22's. I currently have stock 19's which I don't mind keeping but would like to go bigger (22's) without creating potential problems down the road. I read through the threads and see feedback is given based on perception and not actual experience. Any feedback would be appreciated!! Thanks in advance.
Here's pics with the 19's....

I've never seen bigger than 21" MTM bimotos, I think you might get flamed for going that big. It's pointless IMO

I did look into the 21's and the guys at the shop said to just go 22's...easier to get tires and sell if I ever decide to go back to the 19's. This is a big car and I can see it with 22's...the A4 and A6 on the other hand are smaller and should stick with the 20's max..7 series and S Class rock 22's all day here in South Florida and they are similar size cars...I never seen an Audi with 22's locally...

for the most part those look ghetto or just plain ugly, I suggest keeping it classy but it's your car.

I agree some of them look ghetto...but some do look classy with simple, nice rims...nothing crazy...and that's the look I want...I think the 19's on an A8L is like 16's or 17's on an A4...BTW I looked at your pics and your A4 looks great the 19's...Put your pic next to mine and you'll probably see the car/rim ratio look I am talking about.

I think 20s/21s are a nice fit, but then anything bigger looks like a 4x4. Plus tires are more expensive.

Anyone currently running on 22's w/feedback??
I don't think this is 4X4 or ghetto....I got it from a gallery on photobucket..

If you're going to get 22's you better slam the car and tuck the tires, and be flush at the same time, otherwise it will look like a retarded donk.

Well what kind of wheels/tires are you planning on running? Because not all wheels are created equal and different tires have different handling/quietness/quality than others. I drive a D2 and I am running staggered 20s...I love it so far!

I read staggering is not recommended for the D3 A8L..So I definately will be staying away from staggering...I also read 265/30/22 are the recommended tires for the 22's?? That's the reason I started this thread...I would like some feedback from anyone who has been running 22's with the specs..tire size...rim offset/width and how much did they lower the car to prevent rubbing..I vag lowered mine with the stock 19's 10mm front and 5mm back. I don't want to slam it either...I just want a nice, clean look...as I said previously...this is a big/long car and I want the rims/tires to fit the size...don't get me wrong though..I think the 19's and 20's do justice but the 22's just seem to fit it right ratio wise on some of the pics I seen.

In regards to your question about 22in rims.
Yes 22's fit and the guy at the shop you spoke to know what he's talking about. What i recommend is that you run 22x9.5. If you go 22x10 it may rub.
Also, i have the same year a8l and just got word that strtmosphere in ny can get exhaust made by milltek for our cars.
Read my thread about a8l exhaust finnaly.

THANKS a8slim!!.. Yes they showed me 22x9.5...do you have 22's on yours and/or the exhaust..looks nice but will the bumper need to be modified to fit the dual tips? Any pics of your car..

Whats going on JLM04A8L!
I have 20X9.5 Zone 1 3 piece wheels blackw/ chrome lip n rivits.
No, I'm going to pre-pay for the exhaust. I have been looking for a exhasut forever and finally I got someone to work with me. It's a killer deal! I don't believe it's going to be a dual tip. MILLTEK is going to MFG the exhaust in house, it should be a perfect fit. I'm going to order a RESONATED system. I don't want to hear the rumble at all RPM's only when I'm on the gas.
Give the guys at STRATMOSPHERE (866 533 1777) a call. I just found this info out today about the go ahead if 5 people are willing. ONLY NEED 3 MORE PEOPLE. go to youtube and look for MILLTEK exhaust S8. It's a V10 but listen the exhaust and look at the quality online.
ITS A KILLER EXHAUST SYSTEM.!
Yeah I have pic's. I'll show you later im on vacation right now. GOTTA LIVE IT UP!!!
