Hey guys,
My wife's 2007 a4 has a check engine light on. So first, I made sure the gas cap was on nice and tight.
Waited until this morning and it still showing. But now, she says that whenever she drives over 40+ mph, it beeps and the "MPH" warning shows up with a 1 outside the circle. It disappears after driving over 40 for awhile and then back on if she goes below it.
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks.

if the car is still on warranty, go to the dealer. if not, ping someone on the regional forum, in tri-state area with vag-com who can help you pull the codes and go from there...

to me it sounds like someone set the speed warning on the DIS. check your user manual it's in there.

You can reset the Speed warning: you need to toogle the button located on the bottom of the wiper lever

I just had the same problem today. Took a little while to figure out but what I did to get it to stop was while I was driving and the cel came on i just held the check button till it put a line through the mph sign then it stopped. Hope that helps
The beeping is the speed warning. From your post I would assume that its believed that the Speed warning is linked to the CEL? The answer to that would be no. Speed warning can be set and/or turned off.
If the CEL is solid but drivability hasn't changed you're probably ok driving the car. Take it in as soon as possible to get the codes pulled. If your CEL is blinking i'd be a little more weary of driving the car.
