I have an 03 Allroad 2.7T TIP and I recently put the 91 octane APR chip in it.
Anyways,
the car doesn't drive that well. Infact it's performance has pretty much dropped.
I get serious lag when normally accelerating. the RPM's will spin up to 3000 ish and then jump up and down (+- 300 rpm's) until finally deciding that it will accelerate and then it really has power (like you'd expect) after that. But it's sometimes as much as 4 seconds before any power is applied.
Also now when in fifth gear and accelerating, I basically can't go over 3000 RPM's without this just happening consistantly. Except I don't get power after a few seconds. I just get a wider throttle with no response.
I'm thinking to return the APR software and get my money back, and get a TIP chip and ECU chip from VAST.
Anyone have any thoughts?
On a side note, I'll be doing the timing belt this weekend, and I'm hoping that will clear up a weird RPM jumpiness on idle. We'll see.
Still learning about cars. This is all new. Doesn't feel right though. My old explorer never had any of these problems. Ran like a young ox on a nice cool day.
