im planning on picking up an eBay FMIC shortly and i know alot of people go with the CXracing FMIC or the GodSpeed...i found this other one and i just wanted to know if its any good or not... heres all 3:

CXRacing:

GodSpeed:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200370969379&category=33742&_trksid=p4340.m183&_trkparms=algo%3DSI%26its%3DI%252BC%252BS%252BIA%2 6itu%3DIT%252BSI%252BUA%252BUS-BWR%252BUCI%252BPSS%252BUCC%252BCRS%26otn%3D4%26ps %3D33

M-Spec:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190318652401&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT

I have a BT setup and this is the last thing i need to get to be finished with my engine mods...I heard i should have 2.5" piping instead of 2.25" so CXRacing would be out im guessing...Id also like a bigger core like the M-Spec or upgraded GodSpeed...

How easy is the GodSpeed to install vs. the CXRacing...just wondering cuz with the CX you need to cut and fit all the piping, but the GS is all precut...so how easy is it to install...like whats the time expectancy?

So...what do you guys think???

Thanks guy! [up]

On ebay search "bar and plate intercooler", that will get you bar and plate cores instead of tube and fin like you have links to above.

This is the Autobahn88 FMIC (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/M-Spec-Intercooler-Kit-Audi-A4-B5-98-01-Passat-1-8T-VW_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhas hZitem3a5060bb50QQitemZ250456619856QQptZMotorsQ5fC arQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories) that people seem to like more than others. CX racing is just cheaper. I also have that Autobahn88 one saved in my favorites and would get that one if I were to aquire an ebay one.

Alright great! I was actually leaning more towards getting this one. Is the install pretty straight forward? Will i end up just ripping out all the stock IC hoses and parts and connect this IC piping directly from the core to the turbo and throttle body? is it really that simple...or no? lol

The m-spec is ideal for a k03/k04 setup as the intercooler piping is 1.75". The fitment is great. However if you have a BT I would go for the Godspeed as the piping is 2.5".

I think the mspec piping would be too restrictive for a BT setup,

And install is straight forward. Take off the bumper. Take off the old IC. Mount the new one. Connect the piping. The side connecting to the turbo will have a nipple to connect a hose to the DV. The other side connects to your throttle body.

Also I would recommend using tbolt style clamps.

Yeah i just compared the 2 and noticed the piping difference. Im gonna go with the GodSpeed...im thinking of getting the bigger upgraded core...should i? What would i have to cut in order to fit it...and is it worth the upgrade....will it make a difference?

Bigger is not always better. A larger core can cause throttle lag and pressure drop if your turbo is not up to the task.

After looking at your options, it looks like you have to do quite a bit of cutting on the bumper support rebar. Any core taller than 6" and thicker than 2" will likely require this unless you are running an aftermarket bumper.
