Do you normally remove the middle bracket bolts first or the end brackets? I think i might have gone backwards and went with the middle bracket first.

hmmmm, the bottom is easy, i started at the bottom and went upwards. The bolts for some odd reason was not that bad to remove. My buddy did most of the work :P

man, you make me want to get a custom box done! i wonder what you will be making.

If i was just slapping in a sub and an amp in a prefabricated box i wouldnt have gone through all the trouble. i have quite a bit more planned.

Haha yeah its my buddies im just using it temporarily cause i blew my four channel. Im going with 2 JL 12w6s, 2 JL 500/1v2s and a 300/1v2 for the new setup. I want to do 13w6s but i think that might be pushing it for size.

That would be an awesome setup! I had those 2 amps with a 12w7, JL 6.5 components in the front and 6.5 coax's in the rear..alpine deck, monster cable, and 2 monster caps. The only thing I do regret not getting is the dynamat. That shit is soo crucial, especially in an integra.

Have you already dynamatted the trunk while all that stuff was out?

Good luck on the project though..Do you plan on doing the whole system?

Dynamat is my next step. Ive already got crossfire SQ 6.0 components in my front and rear doors which i absolutely love. the things scream, and a pioneer avic d-3 so yeah its going to be a full system. I just wanted to have my trunk back, otherwise my old system was absolutely amazing so crisp and clear and the setup hit soooo hard. I do believe i will miss it.

Well for a w7 i definitely couldn't do what i plan on doing to mine for you because im using w6s strictly for their small sealed box specs. But we could do a fiberglass box just in your trunk thats easy enough w7s need a lot of airspace.

Quattro
08-07-2009, 11:52 AM
yup, I just have a sealed box for it, I never liked the ported box, didnt feel it hit as hard.

I wouldn't mind fabbing some stuff up, my buddy never got around to make something. I have some trunk space right now lol

There's no need to remove the back part of the seat, only the bottom. You can fish the wires right under without a problem. I guess it's a little late now [:D]

That old system you had was awsome[hail], from your FS thread it didn't look like it would eat up all your trunk space, right?

No i still probably had about 14" of depth so it wasnt too bad. My plan for this new system WAS to be able to fold down my backseat and pass surfboards/snowboards through so i wouldnt always have to put my roof rack on. However i think there is some suede in my near future so this may no longer be an option. And if youre stoked on the old system take it off my hands.

Nice work - keep it up! You're making me miss my '93 Legend Coupe that had three 10's in aperiodics (damping on the front of the cones, firing through the rear seat). Still the best bass I've ever had, but I just can't bring myself to give up the folding rear seats to do it again in an Audi.

So phase 2 is complete purchased all of my new hardware today decided against JL audio since its far too overpriced even at dealer cost just for the name and aesthetics. Went with an even better setup all image dynamics 2 id12 12" subs optimal for small enclosures and extreme sound, 2 sets of CTX65CS 6.5" components, 1 Image Q 450.4 4-Channel 450 Watt Amplifier, and 1 Image Q 700.2 2-Channel 700 Watt Amplifier. Updates will follow next weekend.

oh, come on now, you have to tell us more - is that all fiber glass? How did you build the mold?

cyanidecologne
08-25-2009, 01:24 PM
It is fiberglass on the front the back side of the enclosure is all mdf contoured around my wheel wells. There are 2 of these one for each side which will each house a image dynamics 12" sub then i do have a little secret for the amp rack on the floor which will not be shown til full completion. It is all being built by my buddies at RAW Real Auto Works in La Habra, Ca. I was originally going to tackle the build myself however once i pulled out the factory upholstery in the trunk i realized i was out of my league for the carpentry skills needed.

The 2 subs are slightly angled towards the cabin. Image Dynamics actually said that cancellation really is never an issue however either way this setup would not have any issues with cancellation due to their angles.
